Their short-lived romance was over before it had begun but there was a still a frosty atmosphere between them noted by others.

But tonight, Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins put their off-screen drama behind them as they reunited for the European premiere of their new film Abduction in London.

There was certainly no suggestion of any animosity between them as they posed with their arms around each other at the screening which took place at the IMAX cinema in Waterloo.

Ever the professionals: Despite reports they had split up almost two weeks ago, Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins looked relaxed in each other's company as they posed for pictures at the European premiere of their new film Abduction

The pair led the red carpet celebrities at the premiere of the film, which tells the story of teenager Nathan Harper, played by Lautner, who finds out that his parents are not really his.

He makes the discovery when he sees his baby picture on a missing persons website shown to him by his neighbour and longtime crush Karen Lowell, played by Collins.

The actress, 22, who is the daughter of legendary singer Phil Collins, looked very much like a rock chick at tonight's bash in a short black dress that was adorned with studded leather strips which she teamed with towering black peep-toed heels.

And she looked as though she was getting used to the red carpet attention as she posed for the cameras, with this film being her third big screen venture.

Mail Online managed to grab Collins very briefly on the rain-soaked red carpet and when asked if she had any musical ambitions like her dad, she said: 'I love to sing but I prefer to act'

Taylor looked very smart and sexy in his black suit and white T-shirt, which delighted the hundreds of fans that had waited in the rain to see the Twilight star.

They screamed his name and pushed to get autographs and their photo taken with the young hunk, who built up a huge fan following because of his role as Jacob in the Twilight series.

And he was only to happy to oblige as he ignored the drizzle and stopped to talk to fans, many of whom had pressed up against the IMAX windows to catch a glimpse of their pin-up.

He and Lily are believed to have got together during filming but a few days ago, US Weekly reported that called it quits just one week before the September 15 premiere in the US.

But according to sources, the pair couldn't be amicable towards each other and things were rather frosty between them at the after-party.

One said: 'It was a clean break that Taylor initiated. At the Abduction party, it was awkward. They barely said a word to one another.'

Although it's been reported that the two actually engaged in a real-life romance, neither Taylor, Lily nor their reps have actually confirmed the claim.

Abduction is released in the UK on Wednesday September 28.

Taylor Lautner was last week asked to pit his onscreen love and rumoured girlfriend Lily Collins against Twilight co-star Kristin Stewart.

But he remained diplomatic, refusing to choose sides as the brunette beauties both play Snow White in different movies for opposing film studios.

Today it was Lily's turn to feel the heat in an interview for fashion store ASOS.

But the 22-year-old daughter of British singer Phil Collins was more forthcoming about the teen heart-throb.

She appears alongside the 19-year-old in their new thriller, Abduction.

When asked what it was like acting with him, she said: 'I was blown away.

'People know him from Twilight and see him as Jacob, but Jacob is not in this movie. I’ve heard him be compared to Tom Cruise – which is cool.'

Lily will play the titular character in Relativity's Brothers Grimm: Snow White alongside Julia Roberts who plays the Evil Queen.

Stewart, 21, will star in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.

Taylor was asked at the MTV Video Music Awards on Friday who he thought would play the better Snow White.

He replied: 'It's tough. I mean, my excuse is they're so different. I can root for them both.'

He added: 'Kristen's going to be cool and edgy and dark. It's gonna be something new for her, and I think that's really exciting.

'Lily's gonna be great too. And a completely different feel.'

The couple are thought to have become close while working on their movie last year.

Although they have confirmed not confirmed they are dating. they have been spotted together on a number of occasions off set - even coordinating their outfits on occasion.

Lily visited Taylor on the set of the new Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn, in British Columbia and the pair shared an intimate meal while both donning jeans and black leather jackets.

They also attended a Pittsburgh Steelers game while filming Abduction in the city, and have caught flights and shared a number of meals together.

The actress looks gorgeous on the cover of ASOS' latest magazine and inside wearing a variety of outfits.

The shoot took place in Montreal where she’s filming her new blockbuster.

She revealed that everyone on the set called her 'Snow'.

The fashionista also told the magazine that she chased down head Chanel designer Karl Lagerfield during the Met Ball, New York's 'Fashion Oscars' at the Metropolitan Museum.

'I heard talk at the table he was leaving and I hadn’t met him yet,' she said.

'So I grabbed the PR person, and remember sprinting through the Met Museum in my Chanel dress and huge Chanel shoes just to say hello to him.'.

Lily is the daughter of Phil's second wife Jill Tavelman, with whom he is now divorced. She was born in Surrey but the family moved to America when she was two.

She visits her father's home in the country every summer and at Christmas when she is not filming.

She said: 'The funny thing is, when I'm in LA and I know I'm going to England I'll say I'm going home to England.

'When I'm in England, I'll say I'm going home to LA. I consider both of them home. I feel very half and half. I feel at peace in LA but when I come to England, I feel like Lily again. Both places are a part of me.

'I love going to the supermarket in England and getting my favourite foods - Marmite, Heinz beans, tea, Jaffa Cakes, digestives, rich tea biscuits... I miss it. West Sussex is so beautiful, a nice change of pace from LA. It's where I go to calm down.'

Collins started acting at the age of two, appearing in the BBC series growing Pains.

She made her movie debut in The Blind Side, playing the role of Sandra Bullock's daughter.

In 2009 she appeared in a Maxim magazine list as one of 'The Hottest Daughters of Rock Stars' and was this year named by MTV Networks' NextMovie.com as one of the 'Breakout Stars to Watch for in 2011'.

It looks like Lily Collins could be the fairest of them all if you take this exclusive Brothers Grimm: Snow White picture at face value.

However if Phil Collins daughter is to take the title it will be against all odds, as she is starring opposite Hollywood beauty Julia Roberts in the fantasy adventure.

It is being billed as a dark twist on the classic fairy tale, in which Snow White and the seven dwarfs look to reclaim their destroyed kingdom.

However viewers will get to see both sides of the story when they see the Pretty Woman star’s Evil Queen battle to eliminate her pure-hearted nemesis.

No doubt parents will enjoy watching the two sweethearts battle it out in the upcoming movie.

Lily, who is following in her father’s footsteps by going into acting, said: ‘I keep saying to everyone I feel like I’m walking into a snow globe, a fairy tale, every single day.

‘It’s so epic. I was part of a costume ball today, so you can only imagine the outfits.

‘She’s very much that fairy tale princess we’ve all read about in books.

'She’s been modernized in a way that she becomes a fighter in the end.’

The Brothers Grimm: Snow White is being released next March, and is directed by The Fall’s Tarsem Sing.

There is a feeling in the air the movie could be Lily’s breakthrough into the big-time.

This was further bolstered when Game of Thrones star Sean Bean agreed to star as Snow White’s father the king.

It seems his character does not share a groovy kind of love with the Evil Queen however, as she ends up trying to steal the heroic prince of the story away from Snow White.

Lily said: ‘They’re competing for the prince in separate ways.

‘The Queen wants to use him to better herself. I’m seeking his help to gain back my kingdom from the Queen.

‘She has her intentions from the start. I go from seeking his help to falling in love, though obviously there’s something of a spark from the beginning.’

Lily says Julia, 43, portrays the Evil Queen as having a sweet exterior, but with a rotten core, and ends up trying to kill Snow White with a poison apple.

She said: ‘You can’t figure out if you are supposed to like her or hate her. But if you happen to be the victim of it, you really feel it.’

Lily, 22, said she is hoping to show her true colours as her character is, ‘a joyful person who lights up a room and maintains grace at all times.

‘She’s a naive innocent young girl who turns into a woman and really finds herself.’

And though they lead separate lives, it looks like Lily is turning out just like her retired rock star father Phil.

The Genesis star started his career as a child actor, and famously appeared as the Artful Dodger in the London production of Oliver, and was an extra in The Beatle’s move A Hard Day’s Night.

By the time he would next grace the silver screen in the popular 1988 Great Train Robbery film Buster he was an established worldwide music superstar.

However it looks like we will have to wait and wonder before we find out if his daughter's film can claim the spoils as next year’s best fairytale movie.

It will be competing with Snow White and the Huntsman, which begins filming soon and has Twilight‘s Kristen Stewart in the princess role.
