Elle Macpherson once earned herself the nickname The Body through her incredible physique and sexy modelling shoots.

But now there's a new Body in town - in the form of British beauty Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The 24-year-old model looks stunning in a new shoot for Harper's Bazaar magazine's Body issue, showing off her toned figure in this season's hottest swimwear.

But while Rosie has become one of the most sought-after models in the industry today, she admits in the accompanying interview that she wasn't really welcomed when she first tried to make it in Los Angeles.

She said: 'All I kept hearing was "Honey, you gotta change this; your hair’s this; your legs are that; you’re not enough this; you’re not enough that; you’re too much this; why are you wearing that?"

'And so it was a constant stream of judgement.'

Rosie, who is dating British action movie star Jason Statham, added that her sense of style didn't go down too well Stateside.

She laughed: 'I was always the girl who would turn up to fashion shows in trainers, flares, a shearling jacket and braids in my hair.

'I look back and I was really cute, but all the other girls were slick, groomed and elegant, while I’d be backstage drinking a can of beer.

'It’s a great British thing, but that kind of thing doesn’t go down well in America.'

However, Rosie said that while her unique way of dressing didn't fit in in Devon, she always knew it would help propel her to fame,

She explained: 'I was probably the one of all my school friends who enjoyed dressing up and having my own style, but it wasn’t something I dwelt on.

'I knew I was going to leave Devon, and whatever I did, it would be big.'

And Rosie's stunning looks have caught the attention of world-famous photographers including the renowned Mario Testino, who said: 'Rosie can make any outfit look sexy.

'She’s English and has a very English beauty, but she has a “Brazilian body”, and that’s what makes her so special.'

While Rosie is now equally as big in America as she is in the UK, she insists she will never see the States as her home - despite living there with Statham.

She said: 'I have a different feeling when I come back to England; as soon as I touch down in Heathrow and drive into London and down to Devon, there’s a sense of home and belonging.

'I will never feel that in America, it doesn’t matter how long I live there - and I’ve come to terms with that. I really am so proud to be British.'

They say that women should steer clear of horizontal stripes, but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley obviously ignores that advice.

The 24-year-old model and actress needn't worry about the unflattering pattern making her look bad as her figure still looks rather trim.

The Transformers star showed off her slender self at the grand opening of the Burberry store in Paris last night and her body was certainly centre of attention.

Wearing a knee-length stripy bodycon skirt and a teal coloured top - both by the designer - Rosie looked the slimmest she's ever been.

The Victoria's Secret model elongated her slender frame by wearing a pair of black pointy stilettos and emphasised her waist with a chunky belt.

But also noticeable in the strappy dress was her bony shoulders and her collar bone, which jutted out quite dramatically.

However, Rosie didn't seem bothered by her bones sticking out and laughed as she arrived at the event.

Showing off her natural beauty in minimal make-up and just a hint of lip gloss, the star wore her hair in a loose style and posed for the cameras confidently.

Rosie spent time having her photo taken with Chief Creative Officer at Burberry, Christopher Bailey, at the new French store.

The model was relatively unknown in the fashion industry up until 2008, chief creative officer Bailey, cast her replacing Agyness Deyn for the brand's Autumn/winter campaign with actor Sam Riley.

But it's not just clothes that Rosie models for the designer as in July this year she was unveiled as the face of their newest fragrance, Burberry Body.

She's a world-renowned supermodel who was deemed so stunning that she could replace Megan Fox in the Transformers films - but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wasn't always so drop-dead gorgeous.

The 24-year-old British beauty has peaches and cream skin, a pin-thin frame and flowing blonde locks, but she says that her good looks only came later in life.

However unbelievable it seems, the Victoria's Secret stunner says she looked like Ugly Betty as a teen.

Betty, of course, is the ABC character America Ferrera made famous for her frizzy hair, horrible wardrobe and ever-present braces.

'I was a bit of an Ugly Betty when I was 15,' she confides in the new issue of America's Harper's Bazaar magazine.

She confesses that she would turn up at castings 'in trainers, with braids, a ton of make-up, plucked eyebrows...I had braces.'

She may have been a self-proclaimed ugly duckling once, but things have obviously turned around for the Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon star.

Not only does she model lingerie for retail giant Victoria's Secret, but she has modelled for Prada and Burberry.

She has also been named the sexiest woman in the world by men's magazines like Maxim and FHM.

As of July 2011, she ranks No. 15 on 'The Money Girls' list and No. 3 on the Top 20 Sexiest Models list at Models.com.

The leggy beauty also happens to be dating one of the world's sexiest men, British action star Jason Statham.

Additionally, the blonde bombshell was also chosen by director Michael Bay to play the highly coveted part of Megan Fox's replacement in his Transformers films.

She tells Harper's that she's being extremely careful in making the transition from supermodel to Hollywood starlet.

She says: 'It's interesting coming from modelling, where women rule the industry, into one where there are so few great female parts and the competition is so much higher.'

She's one of the most sought-after models in the world, and is under constant pressure to look good.

But it seems Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has taken her desire to maintain her slim figure a bit too far, judging by photographs of the 24-year-old model at a Burberry event in Beverly Hills last night.

The British model, who embarked on a strict diet and exercise regime to get in shape for her role in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, looked noticeably thinner than she did last year.

Rosie's negligee-style dress highlighted her tiny waist and skinny arms as she arrived at the Burberry store in Beverly Hills.

The stunning model, who is dating Jason Statham, spoke earlier this year about how hard she works to maintain her figure.

She said: 'It takes lots and lots of hard work. I have three personal trainers - James Duigan in London, Jason Walsh in Los Angeles and my friend Justin in New York.

'That means there’s no excuse not to be in the gym wherever I go.'

And referring to what she eats to stay slim, Rosie said: 'Everything starts with exercise. Then you want to look after yourself and put good food in your body.

'I have a really good response when I cut out carbs so that’s something I always do before a great event. I eat a high-protein diet and lots of greens.'

A spokesperson for the actress previously told MailOnline that staying healthy is a huge part of Rosie's life.

She said: 'Rosie is very health conscious and always has been (her mother was a fitness instructor) and likes to eat well and keep trim.'

Talking about why Rosie was named the face of Burberry Body, Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey said: 'Rosie's effortless style and her staggering beauty made her the natural choice as the first Burberry Body.'

And Rosie added: ''It’s a huge honour to be working with Burberry again, a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me.

The model-turned-actress is once again separated from her actor boyfriend, who lives in London, after the couple have spent most of their summer apart due to work schedules.

Earlier this month the couple were seen enjoying a rare date night in the English capital heading to Nobu for dinner.

As one of the world's most well known models Rosie Huntington-Whitely has the natural beauty that most women would die for.

But despite her stunning good looks, the wannabe actress also likes to make an effort with her appearance - even if it is just for a trip to the supermarket.

The 24-year-old beauty got dolled up yesterday to make a quick trip to her local Whole Foods Market near her home in Brentwood, California.

The Victoria's Secret beauty paired shiny brown shorts which showed off her long tanned legs, with a simple cream camisole.

She then accessories the outfit with beige suede booties and a pair of oversized aviator sunglasses which mostly covered her face.

Still visible was the Transformers star's famous famous pout.

Recently Rosie revealed that her lips have more talents than just looking pretty.

The Victoria's Secret model calls them her 'mood lips' because of their ability to change colour with her mood.



Speaking to the latest issue of Australia's Maxim magazine, the stunner says: 'They’re funny, because they change colour with my mood.



'They get really, really red when I’m angry or passionate and pale when I’m miserable or tired.



'They have a life of their own. They get me in trouble. You know mood rings? I've got mood lips.'



Rosie adds: 'The rest of my body requires a lot of upkeep, but the lips are one thing I don’t have to work on.'

The beautiful model-turned actress, who recently starred in the latest Transformers film Dark of the Moon, poses in a risque cover shoot for the magazine.

Wearing an unzipped studded leather jacket, Rosie gazes seductively at the camera while drawing attention to those famous lips by biting on the arm of a pair of sunglasses.

Her blonde hair is tousled into a Brigitte Bardot-style bouffant.

Despite being one of the most in-demand models in the world right now and strutting her stuff in skimpy lingerie on the Victoria's Secret catwalk, Rosie insists she loves nothing more than traditional English food.

'I find it strange that people say English food is so bad. To me it’s delicious,' she tells the magazine.

'I’ve never really considered it, but I was thinking the other day maybe it’s strange to have beans on toast for breakfast.'

'I grew up on a working farm. We had chickens, sheep, horses - that’s how we ate.'
