Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland has confirmed she has been approached to become a judge on the next series of the X Factor.

 

She is expected to sign a deal to become the replacement for Dannii Minogue on the show within the next few days, according to reports.

'The X Factor is an amazing show. I love Simon because he's so honest. Everything he says I agree with,' said Kelly.
She has been lined up for the programme after Dannii withdrew from the British version of the singing competition - citing her commitments to Australia's Got Talent.
Kelly looks set to be joined on the judging panel by N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, as well as Take That star Gary Barlow.
A friend said: 'Kelly was always the one with the best sense of humour in Destiny's Child. She'll be a great addition to the show.'

The new trio have been selected after Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell left their jobs as judges to take up the same roles on the new American version of the X Factor.
Cowell is attempting to replicate the success of the UK version in the States and has chosen former T4 presenter Steve Jones as the US programme's new host.

Mel B is thought to be replacing Cheryl Cole as a judge on X Factor, after she let the plans slip out during a Heart FM interview.
The former Spice Girl was speaking to Jamie Theakston and said she was moving back to Britain with her family for ‘quite some time’ this year.
She then quickly backtracked and said: ‘I don’t think I was meant to say that though. Oh sorry! Pregnant brain… Maybe that was a secret.’

When asked if she was being lined up to replace Cheryl Cole on the hit ITV talent show, Mel responded: ‘Maybe so.
‘Anyway… I’m in so much trouble, why did I do this interview? I don’t talk about anything unless it’s ready to go.’

When asked if she would sit next to Louis Walsh or Dannii Minogue, she decided to change the subject and talk about the weather.
Her interview came after it was revealed Cheryl Cole will quit the UK X Factor and join the judging panel on the U.S version with Simon Cowell.
Speaking from London via video link of Fox breakfast show Good Day LA, he was asked by the presenter if Cole would be joining him in one of the hot seats, to which he replied a firm ‘yes’.

However, perhaps realising his faux-pas, the music mogul then seemed to quickly backtrack on his statement, explaining that the panel had not actually been decided yet. He went on to even try to blame a delay in the video link for his incorrect response.
Meanwhile, Mel B also appeared on Loose Women today and brought her four-year-old daughter Angel with her.
She posted on Twitter after filming the slot: ‘Did you all see angel??? She was adamant about being on tv!!!’
During her Loose Women interview she said of X Factor plans: 'Rumours are rumours. I think whoever gets that job is going to be over the moon.'
She then winked at the camera, before adding: 'I'm only joking', but when asked if she'd like to do it, she replied: 'Who wouldn't like to do it?'

When asked what sort of judge she'd be, she said: 'I'd just be honest, sometimes I'm not really that tactful I don't think'
Mel then spoke about her experience as an X Factor mentor in Australia and said: 'It was nice. I got to perform a Spice Girl song with the other contestants and I got to tell them what I thought, in a nice way - because you want to encourage them.
'I was their support system. It was lovely.'
Mel and her daughter were snapped earlier in the week with her husband Stephen Belafonte by a pool in Los Angeles, where the pregnant singer showed off her baby bump.
Angel was seen kissing her mother’s stomach and at one point appeared to be talking to her unborn brother or sister.

But Cheryl Cole is finally set to sign her £3million deal to star on the U.S. X Factor – and will quit the UK show to concentrate on breaking her career in the States.
The news comes just a day after the Daily Mail told how Simon Cowell will not appear as a judge on the UK version this year, instead planning to make a few appearances.

It was multi-millionaire Cowell, 51, who seemingly broke the news of Mrs Cole’s contract yesterday, which was also echoed by American showbiz industry bible Variety magazine.

The Mail told in December how Mrs Cole, 27, had been told that she had won a judging role on the U.S. X Factor, which will launch in September – after American TV executives flew over to watch her on the UK show.
However, her dreams were put on ice after Fox TV chiefs held focus groups, where potential X Factor viewers were shown footage of the Girls Aloud singer. The resulting feedback was not good, although Mrs Cole continued to be backed by Cowell and senior Fox bosses.
But yesterday, Variety magazine reported that the petite brunette’s contract is currently being drawn up and that her announcement as the third judge on the television talent show will swiftly follow.

The Newcastle-born star will join Cowell and former record executive L.A. Reid on the panel, with Cowell’s former American Idol colleague Paula Abdul strongly tipped to win the fourth spot.
Mrs Cole joined the X Factor in 2008 when she replaced Sharon Osbourne on the ITV hit - but will be a new face to American audiences.
Her second solo album, Messy Little Raindrops, was released in November and the single Promise This shot to No. 1 in the U.K. charts.
According to U.S. reports, the Girls Aloud singer's contract is currently being put together, which would see her become the third panellist on the new Stateside version of the show alongside Simon Cowell and Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid.

Even without a job on the American X Factor, friends had told in the past that Mrs Cole had planned to make the last series of the British show her last stint as judge.
Sharp-eyed executives at her record company Polydor have already made plans to work on a dramatic make-over for her to help her break America.
She has increasingly spent more time in Los Angeles, where the X Factor will be filmed, and where her close friend Derek Hough lives.
An X Factor spokeswoman said announcements on the U.S judges would be made in due course.
Meanwhile, the auditions for the British X Factor have been pushed back from late April to May in order to let Cowell concentrate on the U.S show.
Last week. Cowell said: ‘We're still having nightly arguments with everyone trying to get everyone to agree. If you asked everyone involved with this show who they'd like as the panel, you'd have about 25 different opinions.
'I'm used to this. I've done shows in the past where the day before filming we still haven't agreed on the fourth judge because people freak out, they have different ideas, another name comes into play...'

Take That star Gary Barlow and pop singer Lily Allen are being lined up to join The X Factor as judges as the show undergoes a radical overhaul.
A senior source on the ITV show said the pair are set to join Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on the panel.
Simon Cowell is returning to the show - but only for the live programmes, when the number of judges will be increased to five.

Cheryl Cole, who is pursuing other opportunities in America, is not believed to be taking part in the next series.

ITV boss Peter Fincham this week confirmed The X Factor - which started in 2004 - will be 'very different' when it returns in August.

He told The Mail on Sunday: 'We will announce plans for the panel when we are ready.
'But what I can tell you at this stage is that the new series of The X Factor will be very new and very different from what we have seen before.'

A senior X Factor source added: ­'Contracts are due to be signed this week for the existing judges who are returning.
'Lily Allen and Gary Barlow are the names that are being talked about to fill the vacancies.'

Award-winning songwriter Barlow, 40, has already made several appearances on The X Factor with his band Take That.
Allen, 25, has said that she planned to retire from making music following the phenomenal success of her two Top 10 albums Alright, Still and It's Not Me, It's You.
Barlow and Allen have recently set up their own record labels and both may be interested in the opportunities to develop talent as mentors on The X Factor.

Even though Simon Cowell is launching the American version of The X Factor this year, he has agreed to work on the live part of the British shows.
They are on Saturday and Sunday nights, so Cowell will be able to appear on the American series, which will be on air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
ITV has agreed to fly him to and from the United States by private jet twice a week between October and December. Cowell, who was in London this week, had a meeting with Fincham on Thursday night to discuss his role in the new series.
He was said to be concerned that leaving the British series, which was watched by about 12million viewers a week last year, could lead to a ratings fall, leaving The X Factor brand as a whole weakened.
The talks, which took place at a secret location, went on late into the night and an ITV source described the discussions as 'very positive and very fruitful'.

No contracts were signed but The Mail on Sunday understands that a verbal agreement was reached between the pair about Cowell ­taking part in the UK show, and an official announcement is expected this week.

A source said: 'X Factor USA is Simon's priority but that doesn't mean that he is going to abandon the UK

'Even if 20million people are watching in the United States and it is a huge success, if the British show's ratings fall, that will be seen as a failure. Nobody wants that, least of all Simon.'

It is understood that the new panel of judges - not including Cowell - will work on the audition stages of the series which begin in May.

They will tour the country to find contestants who will go on to the national finals.

The live Saturday and Sunday night shows will begin in October - and that is when Cowell will appear.
He is unlikely to mentor his own acts because of his other work commitments, but he may act as an objective judge with a ­casting vote.

X Factor executives are believed to favour increasing the judges' panel to five during the live shows because it will end the unpopular 'Deadlock' aspect of the show which was used in previous series to reach a decision on acts when the panel of four was split evenly.

It also gives Cowell the flexibility to miss any shows if unforeseen problems arise that keep him in the United States.
An ITV spokesman said: 'We are not in a position to make any announcements about the panel at this stage.'

Last night a spokesman for Gary Barlow said he had not been asked to do the show.

A spokesman for Lily Allen did not comment. A spokeswoman for Mr Cowell said: 'Everything is still being discussed.'
