Not sure anyone will be looking at the jewellery in that dress! Ivanka Trump launches boutique in daring gravity-defying frock

She was meant to be showcasing her new jewellery collection.

But Ivanka Trump's eye-wateringly low-cut dress may have averted attention from the glitz and sparkles ever so slightly.

The American heiress was launching her Fine Jewelry Boutique in New York City, slipping into a daring black dress for the occasion.

The 30-year-old posed with husband Jared Kushner at the showbiz event, but it seems organisers forgot the little detail when it came to aesthetics.

As the multi-millionaire couple posed for photographs, the backdrop was a rather more downtown affair with a distinct lack of red carpet to swan down and just a grubby paving slab with what appeared to be a drink spillage.

Yet Ivanka focused on the moral support from her family instead.

Just before the event, she tweeted: 'Heading to the opening of my new jewelry boutique in Soho w/ @jaredkushner, @DonaldJTrumpJr, Vanessa and @EricTrump. So exciting! Whoo hoo!'

Despite giving a shout-out to her husband of two years, the cheeky Apprentice star revealed she has the hots for a rather dishy A-lister.

She revealed: 'I have a monster crush on Ralph Fiennes. We just filmed The View together. Very cute and very sweet!'

Celebrity friend Hugh Jackman also showed his support by attending with his wife and fellow Australian Deborra-Lee Furness.

Speaking of her collection, Ivanka wrote on her blog: 'My dream for this collection is that it will appeal to women who have a strong sense of themselves, know what they like, value exquisite workmanship and wear even the most important jewelry with a kind of off-handed elegance.

'They have a sense of tradition, but they like to go their own way. They appreciate quality, but won't tolerate stuffiness.

'They have everything, yet they have nothing to prove.'

Prior to dabbling with designing, Ivanka worked as a fashion model - including Versace, Tommy Hilfiger and Thierry Mugler - and is one of the boardroom judges on her father's reality show The Apprentice.

There was nothing robotic about Evangeline Lilly as she swept onto the red carpet tonight at the Los Angeles premiere of Real Steel.

The stunning actress cut a sexy yet demure figure in a flowing white gown, which was almost split down to her navel.

Evangeline, who plays the character of Bailey Tallet in the robot flick co-starring Hugh Jackman, looked on great form, just five months after giving birth to her first child - a baby boy - with boyfriend Norman Kali.

The former Lost star, 32, did have some hot competition in the form of her co-star, Russian actress Olga Fonda.

Olga put her figure on display in a backless number which lacked much of a front, save for some carefully placed panelling around the bust.

However, despite Fonda's abundant flashing of flesh, it was Lilly who claimed the prized for best dressed with her tasteful design.

Hugh Jackman, who plays Charlie Kenton, looked dapper in a suit shirt as he posed alongside his co-star.

The 42-year-old Australian actor acted up on the red carpet, playing up to his hardman role by raising his fists while posing for the photographers at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

Real Steel, a boxing drama set in the future which sees humanoid robots doing battle.

Asked if the movie is entirely action-orientated, Jackman told Collider.com: 'The way I’ve described it to people is Rocky 1 to 6 or whatever it is.

'Remember Rocky 1, that was like 70/30. If you saw it, there wasn’t that many fights in it. And we’re sort of in the same world here. It’s really character story driven.

'The fights are unbelievable and very not just “Wow, that’s cool” but very engaging and very emotional.

'There’s some fights at the end, I’m guessing there won’t be a dry eye in the house. So there’s really some amazing stuff, but I would say that’s absolutely accurate 70/30.'

Real Steel is released in the U.S. on October 7th and in the UK on October 14th.
