X Factor plays Cupid once again as 'Amelia Lily dates One Direction star Niall Horan'

Television bosses will need to hire Cilla Black to host the next series of X Factor, as the show seems to have turned into a dating game.

Amelia Lily, who made the final three last night along with Marcus Collins and Little Mix, is said to be seeing One Direction singer Niall Horan.

The couple met on the show at the end of last month, as the boyband and JLS performed with the finalists on charity single Wishing On A Star.

Despite initially spending more time getting to know Horan's bandmate Harry Styles, the blond popstar made a beeline for the rock chick.


A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Niall and Amelia met backstage after One Direction performed on the show.

'Although Harry spent most time with her, it was Niall whose eye she caught. Niall can be pretty shy but he made his feelings clear.

'After swapping numbers, they were texting all week and met up on a secret date in London where they kissed for the first time.'

Niall, 18, was tweeting his support for the former pink-haired beauty during Saturday's show, writing: 'round one goes to miss amelia lily for me! cmon little mix ,not a disaster they will kill it next song! they lookin good tonight.

'little mix and amelia deffinate (sic) finalists! love them.'

The insider also revealed Niall has been trying to organise a triple date for him and his new girlfriend, along with bandmates Harry and Zayn Malik.

Floppy-haired Harry is currently dating The Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack, who at 32 is 15 years older than her 17-year-old toyboy.

Despite both of them deflecting attention from their blossoming romance, the Mirror today reports that they categorically 'ARE' an item.

'Things are getting serious between Harry and Caroline,' said the source.

'They are always running off to grab five minutes over the phone and secretly arranging to meet up.'

However, after Flack received a barrage of abuse on Twitter from die-hard 1D fans, she has been keeping a low profile.

At the time she defended herself on the social networking site, saying: 'Hi One Direction fans! To clarify. I'm close friends with harry.. He's one of the nicest people I know...I don't deserve death threats. :) x.'

Malik is now dating Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards, after they also met on the show during the group ensemble performance.

JLS and One Direction joined the contestants onstage on November 27, after they were called in at the last minute by Simon Cowell in a bid to boost sales on the track in honour of Together For Short Lives.

They've already said they want to be the new Spice Girls - and it looks like Little Mix could be half way there is betting odds are to be believed.

The quartet are now red-hot favourites to win The X Factor next Saturday night, following tireless self promotion in the run-up for the live final.

Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have overtaken rival Marcus Collins in the betting after the odds on them winning were reduced to 5/4.

Collins has moved out to 13/8, with Amelia Lily on 5/1 and Misha B at 16/1.
Even their styling has been customised to influence votes, with Jade and Leigh-Anne sporting 'Little Mix' tights at a secret gig at Talk Talk in Soho.

The teenagers had both been dressed in the stockings which sported letters from their band name jumbled around randomly.

Blonde Perrie has also been making headlines, having embarked on a romance with One Direction singer and X Factor graduate Zayn Malik.

The pair were seen cuddling when the two bands filmed a video for the show's charity single Wishing On A Star last weekend.

Meanwhile, Jesy has been praised for coming forward to speak of cyber bullies who criticised her over her weight.

But despite their ever-growing popularity, the girls say they don't get attention from the opposite sex.

Jesy told Heat: 'We don’t really get very much attention from boys.

'I think people think we’d get loads of guys asking us out, but we don’t.'

Jade added: 'We get loads of messages from girls, but hardly from boys.'

The X Factor semi-finals start tonight at 8pm on ITV.

It's a match made in reality television heaven - Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has apparently started dating One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik.

The pair are said to have started seeing each other after sharing a steamy encounter following One Direction's performance on The X Factor last month.

They were also spotted cuddling up when One Direction and Little Mix both filmed the video to the show's charity single last weekend.

However, news of Zayn, 18, and Perrie's relationship is unlikely to please his bandmate Niall Horan, who has also reportedly been flirting with Perrie.

A source told The Sun: 'Zayn has got in there first but Niall is obsessed with her too.

'They met her on the video shoot and have both been trying to win her over.'

But Zayn and Perrie, 18, are said to be keen to keep their relationship as private as possible for now, with the source added: 'They plan to come out as a couple after The X Factor has finished.'

In an interview with Look magazine earlier this week, Perrie remained quiet about her current relationship status, but did reveal: 'I broke up with my boyfriend after The X Factor started. I think I did the right thing.'

Zayn is no stranger to dating a fellow X Factor contestant, having split from last year's runner-up Rebecca Ferguson earlier this year.

Rebecca had faced much criticism for dating Zayn, who, at 18, was six years her junior.

But the reason behind the split is said to be their careers and they are both rumoured to have realised being unattached would be better at this point in time.

Rebecca said: ‘I’m happy I’ve decided to be single.

'My children, my family and my career are now my world', the Sunday Mirror reported.

Perrie last night joined her Little Mix bandmates at a secret X Factor gig held at the Talk Talk store in London's Soho.
