Four years after AGT she became an Internet singing sensation, then signed with Jay-Z’s label, made No.1 in the US and now there’s collaboration with Tinchy Stryder on the horizon.

Yeah, I just did this incredible record with Tinchy, I can’t wait for the world to hear it.
But first your debut single Happiness is out in the UK this week.
It went No.1 in the dance charts in the US - I never thought it was going to be so massive it seems crazy. I love watching people dance to it.
And who’s your favourite on the X Factor?
The boyband OneDirection are so cute and crazy talented. Everyone is so great though, Mary and Rebecca have incredible voices and Matt’s got it, but I can’t guess who is going to win.
You’ve been in the finalists’ shoes, so what’s your advice?
Keep focused and don’t worry. If you win that’s great and you’re gonna love it and if you lose, come on, keep doing what you’re doing. Keep going for it - obviously I had to and it paid off.
After AGT you posted videos of you singing on the Internet which one got you the signing?
They saw my video of Take A Bow by Rihanna and sent me an email offering to sign me. My first thought was that they were joking - no way in the world is someone going to try and find me like that! Next thing, we flew out to new York and met Stargate and Jay Z.
What were your favourite covers to sing in your videos?
My best cover is Jayz, Run This Town, but I also covered UK artists Pixie Lott and Cheryl Cole - I love her, I favourited her on my Facebook!
