Matt Smith and Karen Gillan to meet fans - Doctor Who Christmas special picture released

There's a treat in store for some lucky Doctor Who fans next Monday (8 November). Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith and his companion Karen Gillan (aka Amy Pond) will be at HMV's flagship Oxford Street branch in London to sign copies of newly released DVD/Blu-ray boxed set Doctor Who The Complete Series Five.

Matt and Karen will be appearing from 1pm but to book a place at the signing fans must be at the store at 9am to claim one of 300 free wristbands, to be distributed one per person on a first-come-first-served basis.

As well as every adventure from Matt Smith's inaugural Doctor Who season, the six-disc boxed set features exclusive scenes from the Tardis filling in the gaps between each episode, plus Matt's video diary, backstage insights in Doctor Who Confidential, and the Monster Diaries.

Meanwhile, the BBC is giving viewers a tantalising taster of Matt Smith's first Doctor Who Christmas special with this suitably seasonal shot from the set.
