About Bambus City Strut:

Bambus City Strut have been making their mark on the UK scene and the 11 piece band are building up their base throughout the UK and across the waters. The band have been influenced by many genres of music, from Funk and Soul to Jazz, Rare Groove, Latin breaks and more that this is felt within the music.

Fronted by the power Soul and Funk vocals of Sasha Patterson who captivates you not only with her voice but with her stage presence and warmth on the energetic live shows that the band perform. With 4 part vocal harmonies, the power of what a 2 piece horn section can do and a fine rhythm section, you must experience the band when they perform live to feel the full grasp of what this band is capable of.

Set up in 2009 by Sasha Patterson and Tom Houghton (Drummer), the band has grown from strength to strength, starting from a 3 piece into the current line up of 11. It is a special moment when 11 people can join together because of their love for the music, some of the band are full-time musicians where as others still juggle their lives with full time careers also. The passion remains the same across the band.

The key element that the band has had from the very beginnings is that it is to remain a family of friends and musicians, where everyone has input on their parts with all musicians in Bambus welcome to write, compose and also to evolve the sound of the band as a whole.

The band released their debut Live Studio EP in May 2011 and have received rave reviews from both the UK and US. The band are now working on their 2nd EP to be released in 2012 with more Funk grooves and progressive sound. More news to come soon.
