'I'm so embarrassed!' Sacha Parkinson reduced to tears by montage of on-screen romance with Coronation Street co-star Brooke Vincent

They are as close off screen as they are on screen.

So it's no wonder that Sacha Parkinson found herself overcome with emotion as she was shown a montage of her Coronation Street romance with co-star Brooke Vincent during an interview on This Morning.

The 19-year-old actress, who plays Sian Powers in the ITV soap, held her hands over her face and told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford 'I'm so embarrassed!' as the camera cut back to her after the montage showing her struggling to control her tears.

Real-life best friend Brooke then jumped in to continue the interview for Sacha, explaining: 'It's mad just looking at it. We've spent so much time together and preparing for it.

'We've been saying for ages that it's the beginning of the end but this is the end, that's it now.'

Brooke, who plays Sacha's girlfriend Sophie Webster in the soap, then added: 'I'm going to start crying now!'

Talking about her friendship with Sacha, Brooke said: 'We're more like sisters, we've done a lot together and we've known each other since we were about six.'

The duo were appearing on This Morning to talk about their upcoming Christmas storyline, which will see their wedding called into doubt after Sophie's affair with Amber.

And while details of the plot have yet to be released, the fact that Sacha is leaving the soap suggests things won't be going according to plan.

Talking about her plans post-Corrie, Sacha said: 'It's really exciting just going back to auditioning. It's just something I have to do.

'I was so comfortable there that I could have stayed there for the next 50 years but I just want to do something interesting, something to get my teeth into.'

But when Brooke was asked if she has considered leaving the soap for the same reasons, she replied: 'I don't like change - I don't like anything changing. I'm just happy and settled, I know my routine and I like that.'

Duchess Kate brings some festive sparkle to bravery awards in velvet strapless dress and diamonds she got as a wedding gift

Just hours before, she joined her husband for a Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Queen.

But it was just the young royal set at the Sun Military Awards tonight.

The Duchess of Cambridge was the belle of the ball in a strapless black velvet dress as she walked the red carpet with her husband Prince William, who looked dapper in black tie.

Prince Harry was two steps behind his older brother at London's Imperial War Museum, also donning a suit.

Kate's black Alexander McQueen gown - the same designer as her wedding dress - had frill trim around the bust and a fishtail-style skirt.

It was so long on the five-foot, 10-inch Duchess, that she had to keep hitching it up to keep it from scraping on the ground.

A lashing of light pink lipstick and her look was complete.

Speaking at a Downing Street reception, the Prime Minister and Deputy PM Nick Clegg joined forces to heap praise on the 'Herculean bravery' of the phenomenal men and women across the services.
More than 80 nominees and their partners packed into the historic No10 state room where the politicians mingled with the guests.
Among those invited was Sergeant Duncan Slater, 32, and his wife Kim, reported the Sun.
The soldier was blasted 30ft from his vehicle by a Taliban bomb, breaking several bones in his body — including his back.
Last year Sgt Slater chose to have both legs removed when the breaks did not heal but went on to cycle the length of Britain in aid of his wounded comrades.
Mr Cameron said at the event: 'I think the Military Awards is now a really brilliant event in the annual calendar — it's an opportunity for the whole country to say a very big thank you to people who've shown enormous bravery and courage in our Armed Services.
'So it's a delight to have you here at lunchtime at No10 Downing Street.
'We have a lot of parties here at No10 — for all sorts of charities and organisations — but I can't think of a more deserving group of people to come and have something to drink, eat and celebrate with today.'
Mr Clegg said: 'You shouldn't just be proud of the servicemen and women with you in your work, and you shouldn't just be proud on behalf of your families and communities but I hope you do also know that you make the whole nation very, very proud indeed.'

'We've been crying all the time': Corrie's Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson on filming their final scenes together

They play on-screen lesbian loves which has resulted in them becoming the very best of friends off-screen.

And Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson say that when it came to filming their last ever scenes together, the tears were very real.

Brooke and Sacha, both 19, have been involved in a lesbian storyline on Coronation Street since April 2010.

Last month, fans of the soap were treated to exclusive shots of the pair filming scenes of the lesbian wedding, which saw Sacha's character Sian Powers running away from her bride-to-be Sophie Webster, played by Brooke, on the big day after discovering that she had been unfaithful.

A fortnight later, Sacha filmed her last scenes after she announced she was leaving the soap.

And speaking to New! magazine this week, both girls said they found shooting her last moments on the cobbles to be very emotional.

Brooke said: 'We’ve been crying all the time. Normally, when one of us has to cry for a scene, we burst out laughing, but this time we both had tears streaming down our faces.

'I was actually on the verge of being sick. It was horrible.'

After being in an on-screen gay relationship for so long, Brooke said she was annoyed that the scriptwriters have made Sophie straight again.

She said: 'We’ve had so much support and recognition for this storyline, so for them to make her straight again would be the worst thing ever.

'What we’ve done has brought confidence to people. One girl told me that when her nan tells people she’s a lesbian, she says, "You know, like those two girls off Corrie." It’s so nice people can relate to us.'

But as Sacha bids farewell to the soap after two years, she said filming the wedding scenes has not made her desperate to get hitched herself.

She said: 'I like the idea of getting married. But when you get married in real life, you don’t have to do it again and again and again – hopefully.'

Bosom buddies! Sacha Parkinson has left Corrie but can't keep away from on-screen lesbian lover Brooke Vincent

She may have bid Coronation Street a tearful goodbye this month.

But Sacha Parkinson, who plays lesbian Sian Powers in the soap, can't seem to tear herself away from Brooke Vincent, her on-screen lover.

The pair were spotted wheeling matching leopard-print suitcases down the platform at Manchester Piccadilly station today, while their mothers followed on behind.

The two 19-year-olds looked relaxed in jeans and brightly-coloured trainers.
Sacha kept out the winter chill in an on-trend feather jacket, while Brooke wore leather.
Brooke also wore a T-shire that bore the slogan: 'I heart shoes, bags and boys' - just in case anyone was in any doubt over the girls' relationship off screen.

Their mothers also looked chic and youthful, appearing more like the girls' sisters.

And it seems the girls shared their journey to London with the Prime Minister.

Brooke tweeted: 'Only Sat On The Train With Mr David Cameron!!! Go On Son In Your Suit!!!!'

Sacha has been playing Sian Powers on the ITV soap since 2009, but is due to go out in style at the beginning of next year.

She and Brooke were spotted filming scenes of their lesbian wedding a couple of weeks ago, which saw Sian running away from her bride-to-be on the big day after discovering she had been unfaithful.

Rumours that Sian decides to call time on their relationship for good, might now be a dead give-away after Sacha has now left the show.

But, before she bowed out, the pair were photographed after their final scene on the soap in matching wedding dresses and less attractive dressing gowns and hair nets.

Brooke posted the picture on Twitter writing: 'Us After Our Last Ever Scene Together For Now Anyways Gonna Miss My Twinny.'

The pair have been firm friends for a while and enjoyed a girlie holiday to Spain earlier this year.

SPOILER ALERT: Coronation Street's lesbian brides wear matching dresses to wedding... but Sian runs away after she discovers Sophie cheated on her

Teenage brides Sian Powers and Sophie Webster can barely contain their matching meringue dresses as a chase scene unfolds on their wedding day.

The Coronation Street stars, played by Sacha Parkinson and Sophie Webster, head to the church with the intention of living happily ever after and being Weatherfield's first lesbian marriage.

However, when Sian discovers Sophie has cheated on her, she flees the altar and leaves her other half desperately trying to catch up with her.

The storyline has been scripted in a bid to write Parkinson out of the ITV soap, after she decided to quit in order to pursue other roles.

The girls tweeted about their day, with Sacha saying: 'In the church filming the wedding! Awwww! My last block is proving to be very emotional! #9Days #CoronationStreet!'

Brooke, who has double the number of followers, added: 'Going To Honestly Miss My Friend When She Goes I'm Sat In The Winny Filling Up @SachaLParkinson #themiddleoftheend #3years'

In October, viewers saw Sophie pop the question to Sian largely due to her guilt over kissing rebellious Amber Kalirai, portrayed by Nikki Patel, during a night out.

British actress Sacha, 19, said: 'Sophie proposes because she's confused by the feelings she's having for Amber.
'She decides the one thing that will keep her and Sian together is if they get married. But their parents aren't exactly on board, so it looks like things aren't going to go very smoothly.'
Meanwhile, Brooke, also 19, said: 'I think after this kiss, Sophie starts feeling something for Amber.

Last year, 17-year-old Sophie became Corrie's first ever lesbian character after former resident Violet Wilson, played by Jenny Platt, was originally intended to embark on a same-sex relationship.
In November 2010, Coronation Street won the new Broadcast Of The Year award at the Stonewall Awards ceremony in recognition of the gay storyline.
