Goodbye Rosie Webster! Helen Flanagan goes out with a fashionable bang in Chanel hat filming her last Corrie scenes

She's provided much of the glamour on the cobbles, so Helen Flanagan made sure she went out with a fashionable bang today.

The 21-year-old said goodbye to her alter-ego Rosie Webster after 12 years on Coronation Street.

The actress couldn't hide her smile as she popped into town in Manchester on a break from filming her last scenes.

She braved the cold in a chic black Chanel beanie, oversized wrap coat and thigh-high black boots.

She carried her belongings in a massive white handbag.

Helen simply wrote on Twitter this morning: 'Last day at Coronation Street.'

Yesterday she said: 'Just got home from Christmas Shopping in Manchester #thoughfulmeaningfulgifts. Can not believe its my last day at work tomorrow!'

She added: 'Tonight will be my last night with my Coronation Street Scripts Much love'

The actress endured the laborious task of cleaning out her dressing room, and tweeted a picture of an exciting discovery.

She said: 'Look what I brought back from my dressing room clear out... My first ever designer handbag.'

Helen is leaving the show to be with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

She will move to Wales where Scott plays for Swansea City.

The actress has been plagued by panic attacks this year, with one causing her to run out while filming, but she says they did not affect her reason to leave.

She told Hello! magazine she couldn't grow as a person anymore.

Although she also admitted she felt some of her characters storylines were a little risque.

She said she was nothing like budding model Rosie in real life.

'I like that she's confident, whereas I'm reserved and shy.

'I can hide behind her. She's funny and sweet too. I didn't enjoy playing her when she went through a promiscuous phase. Luckily she shows more heart these days.

'But I'd give her some advice and tell her to calm down a bit. She is fiercely ambitious and worships power and money.'

SPOILER ALERT: Coronation Street's Rosie and Jason get steamy in his work van but come crashing down to earth (with the car in front!)

She's known for her saucy persona but it seems Rosie Webster's antics may cause a few accidents.

The Coronation Street resident was spotted getting frisky in a van today but all didn't end well.

Helen Flanagan, 21, who plays the manipulative character was seen filming some intimate scenes with her onscreen lover Jason Grimshaw - played by Ryan Thomas.

The builder isn't too pleased when he has to stop to get diesel for his van in the pouring rain and leaves his girlfriend sitting in his white van.

However, Rosie being who she is decides to try and cheer up her boyfriend when he returns, and the two end up getting quite frisky in the front of the van and doesn't seem to care who can see them.

Still wearing his fluorescent high-visibility jacket, Jason gets carried away with his model girlfriend and the pair end up letting the handbrake go.

But before they notice that the van has been rolling forward, it's too late and they've already smashed into a parked car.

The pair no doubt want to make a quick getaway following the crash but with a driver sitting in the car in front, there's little chance that they're going to get away with it - unless Rosie can use her manipulative charm to talk him round.

Actress, Flanagan, was spotted on set after they filmed the scenes and looked very glammed up as usual.

Wearing a short navy blue skirt with a green top and towering black heels, the brunette kept herself warm by wearing a faux fur coat.

Flanagan is set to be filming her final scenes this for the ITV soap this month after revealing that she wouldn't be renewing her contract.

She has played the whining character for 11 years but admitted she will be moving to Swansea to be with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

In a recent interview, Flanagan also stated that she wasn't sure how Rosie will be written out of the show but presumes it will be down to her wanting to pursue her glamour modelling career.

She will be seen on the small screen until February next year.

How low can you go? Corrie star Helen Flanagan steals the limelight at Katherine Kelly's leaving do in plunging dress

By Daily Mail Reporter

Two months ago, Helen Flanagan thrilled her male fans when she posted a photo on Twitter of herself in a very low-cut dress.

But after previously teasing with just a close-up, the 21-year-old actress showed off the full dress in all its glory last night.

The soap star, who plays Rosie Webster, gave onlookers an eyeful of her ample cleavage in a plunging outfit as she attended co-star Katherine Kelly's leaving party.

Arriving at The Place nightclub in Manchester's city centre, the WAG looked sensational in a £525 Agent Provocateur 'Thora' dress, which she teamed with peep-toe heels and a white Chanel quilted bag.

Unfortunately for Flanagan she was dateless for the event as her boyfriend Scott Sinclair had been playing in the Swansea City V Manchester United game, which they lost 1-0.

Flanagan previously gave fans a glimpse of the dress when she wore it for a romantic weekend break in Paris with Sinclair in October.

She tweeted: 'Hey guys just home now. I had an amazing night at Katherine Kelly's leaving do - such an incredible actress.

'So blessed to have such lovely people around me and had amazing chats with special people.'

Flanagan's partying came after a busy day for the actress.

Earlier that evening, she covered up from the cold in a white coat as she turned on the Preston Christmas lights with on-screen lover Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw.

It'll soon be time for Flanagan's leaving do after she announced she is quitting the soap after 11 years of playing Rosie Webster.

The aspiring model will be seen on screen until February 2012, before moving to Swansea to be with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

In a recent interview, she insisted she was nothing like her character, claiming she was 'reserved and shy'.

However, onlookers who saw her outfit last night may probably disagree.

Pretty as a present: Christmas comes early for Helen Flanagan as she steps out in a big red bow

By Georgina Littlejohn

As we are now being reminded, Christmas is only six weeks away and the pre-holiday frenzy has now begun.

But it would seem that Helen Flanagan already has the upcoming festive season all wrapped up - for her hair, at least.

The Coronation Street star was snapped leaving work today wearing a big red bow, which wouldn't look out of place on a gift under the tree.

She beamed for the cameras as she left the soap's studios in Manchester.

Clearly in the festive mood with her bow, maybe she was wrapping herself up as an early Christmas present for her football boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

Helen, a prolific tweeter, even kindly took to her page to let her followers know exactly what she would be wearing.

She said: 'Oooo what to wear today? What am I feeling......'

Then she added: 'Last years Sandros battered ankle boots, tights, black shorts, Aubin and Wills pink shirt, JW body warmer #obsessedwith & red bow #allweek.'

She teamed her look with a pretty purple bag as she walked away from the set messaging away on her phone.

Helen, 21, appeared to have recovered after she backed her Range Rover into another motorist as she made her way to film scenes for the soap's upcoming lesbian wedding.

Helen, 21, recently quit Corrie after suffering panic attacks when she returned from a recent three-month break.

She has played Rosie Webster since 2000 and said she also decided to leave because she didn't like playing her when she 'went through a promiscuous phase'.

Speaking to Hello! she said: 'I'd always felt I would leave by the time I was 21, but when I made up my mind, it wasn't even as if I had a choice.

'I just knew instinctively. After 12 years playing Rosie, it is time to be myself.'

SPOILER ALERT: Coronation Street's lesbian brides wear matching dresses to wedding... but Sian runs away after she discovers Sophie cheated on her

By Nadia Mendoza

Teenage brides Sian Powers and Sophie Webster can barely contain their matching meringue dresses as a chase scene unfolds on their wedding day.

The Coronation Street stars, played by Sacha Parkinson and Sophie Webster, head to the church with the intention of living happily ever after and being Weatherfield's first lesbian marriage.

However, when Sian discovers Sophie has cheated on her, she flees the altar and leaves her other half desperately trying to catch up with her.

The storyline has been scripted in a bid to write Parkinson out of the ITV soap, after she decided to quit in order to pursue other roles.

The girls tweeted about their day, with Sacha saying: 'In the church filming the wedding! Awwww! My last block is proving to be very emotional! #9Days #CoronationStreet!'

Brooke, who has double the number of followers, added: 'Going To Honestly Miss My Friend When She Goes I'm Sat In The Winny Filling Up @SachaLParkinson #themiddleoftheend #3years'

In October, viewers saw Sophie pop the question to Sian largely due to her guilt over kissing rebellious Amber Kalirai, portrayed by Nikki Patel, during a night out.

British actress Sacha, 19, said: 'Sophie proposes because she's confused by the feelings she's having for Amber.
'She decides the one thing that will keep her and Sian together is if they get married. But their parents aren't exactly on board, so it looks like things aren't going to go very smoothly.'
Meanwhile, Brooke, also 19, said: 'I think after this kiss, Sophie starts feeling something for Amber.

Last year, 17-year-old Sophie became Corrie's first ever lesbian character after former resident Violet Wilson, played by Jenny Platt, was originally intended to embark on a same-sex relationship.
In November 2010, Coronation Street won the new Broadcast Of The Year award at the Stonewall Awards ceremony in recognition of the gay storyline.

Helen Flanagan on quitting Corrie and playing promiscuous Rosie

'I didn't like playing Rosie when she went through her promiscuous phase': Helen Flanagan on quitting Corrie

Last updated at 7:53 PM on 31st October 2011

She's known for her provocative outfits off set just as much as she in on the show.

But as she speaks for the first time about quitting Coronation Street, Helen Flanagan has revealed she didn't like her character's risque story lines.

Rosie Webster is seen trying to pursue a glamour modelling career as well as bedding a number of the other characters.

Helen says she is nothing like the budding model in real life.

'I like that she's confident, whereas I'm reserved and shy,' she told Hello magazine.

'I can hide behind her. She's funny and sweet too. I didn't enjoy playing her when she went through a promiscuous phase. Luckily she shows more heart these days.

'But I'd give her some advice and tell her to calm down a bit. She is fiercely ambitious and worships power and money.'

She said she would love to act in a period piece on stage, such as Romeo and Juliet but also wants to pursue a modelling career like Rosie.

Helen, 21, has played Rosie for 12 years but has quit the show to start a new life with her boyfriend Scott Sinclair, 22.

When she films her last scenes for the show in December, she will move from her parents home in Bolton to Wales to be with him.

The pair met through Helen's on-screen sister, played by Brooke Vincent.

'Brooke was meeting a male friend and he brought along Scott,' she said.

'He seemed like a nice, sweet guy and invited me on a date. We got on well and by the second date, we were best friends. That was it, we became inseparable. I knew he was The One, the only man I wanted to be with.'

But even though they have been together for two years now, Helen says it's too early to talk about marriage and children.

Helen says she made the decision to leave the show while on a three-month sabbatical from April to June.

Her break was explained on the show as Rosie having gone to London to pursue modelling.

'During my time away from the street I felt free. One of the first things I did was cut my hair short and dyed it bright blonde. I felt fearless and girlie.

'It was something I had wanted to do for a long time.

'I loved the way it made me feel and have no regrets, even though I had to dye my hair brown again when I turned to Coronation Street.'

The actress has been crippled by panic attacks since she was 19 and endured three while filming recently.

But she says her reason for leaving is more about 'growing as a person'.

Helen claims she doesn't know yet how Rosie will be written out of the show but believes it may be to pursue her modelling career.

  • The full interview with Helen features in this week's Hello magazine, out today
