Still in paradise: Holly Valance is jumping for joy following engagement...and has already started planning the big day

By Kirsty Mccormack

Last updated at 5:02 PM on 26th December 2011

She may have only got engaged a few days ago, but Holly Valance is already starting to plan her big day.

The 28-year-old is obviously very excited after her billionaire boyfriend Nick Candy popped the question in the Maldives last week - and so are her future family.

Candy's sister-in-law, Emily, who is married to his brother and business partner Christian, bought Valance a wedding planner book for Christmas.

'Happy Boxing Day from Paradise!' Holly Valance tweeted this photograph today of herself in the Maldives after her boyfriend Nick Candy proposed to her there

Taking to her Twitter account, the former Neighbours star wrote: 'My 1st pressie!! From my gorgeous future sister in-law Emily!!! Holy c**p I feel so adult! ♥.'

But rather than take notice of the small cream book that Valance is holding in the photograph, her followers will notice a very sparkly piece of jewellery.

Along with dark red nail varnish, a rather expensive-looking ring can be seen on the star's left hand.

The photograph will prompt speculation that this could be the star's engagement ring and looks as though it is a platinum band that is covered in several diamonds.

Something's sparkling: The 28-year-old tweeted this photo of a wedding planner diary but also showed off her shiny engagement ring

Valance also tweeted a photograph of herself by the couple's pool with the caption: 'Happy Boxing Day from Paradise! Still can't believe I'm gettin' hitched! This guy's got conjones!! ♥'

The 38-year-old property tycoon got down on one knee on a beach in the Maldives with the words 'Will you marry me' written in fire when he popped the question.

He had whisked Valance away to the Indian ocean island on Wednesday for a Christmas break, following the finale of Strictly Come Dancing last weekend.

And of course the actress-come-singer couldn't keep the news quiet for long.

Uploading a photo of the intimate moment on her Twitter page, an excited Valance, wrote: 'And I said YES!!! ♥ Happiest day of my life!!!!! Xxxx.'

However, the happiest day of her life will certainly be her wedding day whenever the pair decide to get hitched.

Last year, Valance admitted being in love with a billionaire sometimes irked her friends.

'I've got such a disgusting, wide, smug grin on my face all the time that my friends just want to slap me. I’ve never been so happy...' she said.

'I am a spoilt brat. My friends and my sister say: "I hate you!" when I show them what he’s bought me.'

So of course the couple's wedding day will be an extravagant affair as money is obviously no restriction with Candy.

Along with his brother, the dark-haired businessman has established his firm Candy & Candy - which has become one of Britain’s most successful luxury property developers.

The siblings managed to turn a £6,000 loan from their grandmother in 1995 into a £9billion global property portfolio.

Their most famous development is the One Hyde Park: The Residences which link to the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge, South West London.

But rather than get married in London, Valance may choose to say 'I do' in Monaco, where Candy also has a luxury home.

Or perhaps they'll choose to say their vows on his £50million super-yacht - either way it will certainly be a memorable occasion.

Raquel, eat your heart out! Holly Valance looks like a young Miss Welch as she comes out of her cave for EuroMillions draw

By Georgina Littlejohn

Last updated at 12:20 PM on 23rd December 2011

She became a sexy new pin-up for millions of young male movie goers when she first flashed onto the scene in her fur bikini.

But 45 years on and Raquel Welch could find herself upstaged by a young sexy Australian who has brought the sexy cave girl look into the 21st century.

Holly Valance is the face of this weekend's EuroMillions draw and got her prehistoric groove on for the campaign, which sees her in a sexy fur bikini.

It was a scene recreated from the 1966 film One Million Years B.C. in which the then 26-year-old Welch, now 71, played cave girl Loana.

And Holly showed off the results of her gruelling Strictly Come Dancing schedule in her own fur bikini, as she posed on some rocks with her fingers crossed.

The actress, 28, was the face of the campaign, called One Million Pounds in homage to the film, which will guarantee that 25 British Euromillions players will win £1,000,000 in tonight's draw.

And it's proved to be a fantastic year for Holly, who was the face of Fosters lager this summer, a campaign which she said was perfect for her.

She said: 'I was approached a little while ago by Fosters and I am a big beer drinker. My friends have been giggling their butts off because they couldn’t think of a more perfect person to endorse beer.’

She then revived her TV career when she signed up as one of the celebrity contestants on Strictly Come Dancing.

Paired with Artem Chigvintsev, Holly wowed the judges and audiences alike and came fourth in the competition after they were eliminated in the 11th week.

But Holly's year has still ended on a huge high - after her billionaire boyfriend proposed to her yesterday.

The former Neighbours star took to her Twitter page to announce the news after property tycoon Nick Candy got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

Australian singer/actress Holly Valance is ecstatic after her billionaire boyfriend Nick Candy asked her to marry him.

The property tycoon, 38, got down on one knee on a beach in the Maldives with the words 'Will you marry me' written in fire.

He had whisked her away to the Indian ocean island on Wednesday for a Christmas break, following the finale of Strictly Come Dancing last weekend.

A close friend revealed: ‘They are a really lovely couple and are so happy together. We couldn’t be happier for them.’

Among those to congratulate the couple was Valance's presenter friend Lisa Snowdon, who tweeted: 'Congratulations!'

Rather tellingly, in an interview published just days ago, Candy was rather coy when it came to marriage.

When asked about marrying Valance, he told Today Online: 'I always get asked that. No comment.'

The couple started dating in late 2009 after meeting at a mutual friend's dinner party.

Recalling their meeting in an interview last year, she said: 'I didn’t know anything about him. I just thought "Cor, if I didn’t fancy you so much, we’d be the best of friends. Instead, I just want to make out with you all the time."'

They soon moved in together last year and have become regulars on the London society scene.

During Valance's recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, supportive Candy was often seen on screen cheering her on from the audience.

The couple's Christmas holiday comes after they spent last weekend in Blackpool for the Strictly Come Dancing final.

However, while the majority of the cast and crew went up to Blackpool in a coach, Candy took Valance and her fellow competitor Nancy Dell'Olio up north in his private jet.

Melbourne-raised Valance leaped to fame in 1999 when she was cast as Felicity 'Flick' Scully in Australian soap Neighbours.

In 2002, she quit the Aussie soap to move to London, where she signed a record deal with London Records.

She released four singles over a 12 month period and scored a number one hit with her debut Kiss Kiss, a cover of a Turkish pop song.

After poor sales of her second album State of Mind, Holly parted ways with London Records and returned to acting, taking roles in DOA: Dead or Alive, National Lampoon's Pledge This! and Miss Marple.

Prior to dating Candy, she also romanced Hawaii 5-0 actor Alex O'Loughlin and Peter Veveris.

Meanwhile, Mr Candy – along with his brother Christian and their firm Candy & Candy – has become one of Britain’s most successful luxury property developers.

Astonishingly, he and Christian turned a £6,000 loan from their grandmother in 1995 into a £9billion global property portfolio.

Their most famous development is the One Hyde Park: The Residences which link to the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge, South West London. This development boasts the country’s most expensive apartment, the penthouse which sold for £136million earlier this year.

In September, Mr Candy – who has opulent homes in London and Monaco as well as a private plane and a £50million super-yacht - was named entrepreneur of the year by GQ magazine.

Prefer to travel in style? Holly Valance 'refuses to take the coach to Strictly Come Dancing final... flying in by private jet instead'

She's been in the spotlight since the tender age of 16, and is dating billionaire Nick Candy, so Holly Valance has most probably become accustomed to a certain way of living.

But reports have today emerged that the 28-year-old actress refused to get on a coach to travel to the final of Strictly Come Dancing in Liverpool, instead opting to fly in by private jet.

A source told The Sun: 'The kind of circles Holly moves in, you don’t really get the coach.

'They’re seen as the kind of vehicles you use to ferry catering staff to your summer croquet party.'

However, Holly was not the only star of the BBC show to turn her nose up at the transport arrangements, as Nancy Dell’Olio travelled with the former Neighbours star.

The source added: 'Nancy wouldn’t be seen dead on a coach so was in the process of hiring a chopper to get her up there.

'But when she realised how much that was going to cost, she panicked. Fortunately she heard about Holly’s plan and she was kind enough to offer her a seat.'

Holly and Nancy were both seen enjoying a night out at the launch of Buca di Beppo, the UK's new Italian restaurant chain, in Blackpool last night, where they were joined by fellow former Strictly stars including Lulu, Robbie Savage and Alex Jones.

The group were also joined by former Strictly winner Kara Tointon, who attended with boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev - who partnered Holly on the show.

Holly was voted off Strictly Come Dancing along with Alex Jones last week and the final tonight comes down to McFly drummer Harry Judd, Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healy and former pop star Jason Donovan.

Meanwhile, the live final tonight was yesterday called into doubt when the winter weather hit Britain yesterday, with fears the snow blizzards could interfere with the satellite equipment used to broadcast the programme.

An insider told the Daily Mirror: 'Snowstorms and wind can cause no end of problems when you're broadcasting live on location. The show runs to an incredibly tight schedule and we really can't afford for the signal to drop out midway.

'Technicians are working around the clock to keep the show on track, but it will be a case of fingers crossed. The satellite trucks outside are being absolutely hammered by the weather. It's a nightmare.'

Today, Harry, Chelsee and Jason were spotted arriving at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom in their rehearsal gear ahead of tonight's final.

Viewers were left shocked tonight as they witnessed Alex Jones and Holly Valance get the boot from Strictly Come Dancing.

The two female contestants saw their dreams of lifting the coveted glitter-ball trophy slip away as they were voted off the semi-final results show.

The surprise exit sets up a final dance off between Australian actor Jason Donovan, McFly drummer Harry Judd and Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey.

Jason and Chelsee both gave great performances on last night's show and each scored the first perfect 40 scores of the series.

Rival dancer Harry also did well and received a score of 39 from the judges on both of his performances.

The impressive results left Jones and Valance at the bottom of the leader-board ahead of the audience's vote.

Jones, who is the host of BBC's The One Show, said she had had a 'brilliant' time on the show despite sometimes getting her left and right confused.

She said: 'I've had an incredible time, and when I'm old and grey I'll look back at these three months and I'll think 'that was a brilliant time'.'

Her professional partner James Jordan praised her dedication and said: 'If there was a trophy for the most improved dancer, for sure you would have won that trophy.

'I would like to say whoever gets to work with you in the future is very, very lucky. You have been absolutely brilliant to work with, it has been an honour.'

Former Neighbours star Holly took the bad news of her departure graciously and said: 'I'm just proud that we've been part of the most successful Strictly.

As she fought back tears she added: 'The British public has been incredible, this is much further than we ever thought we could ever imagine.'

Both couples then took to the floor one last time for their final dance as The Winner Takes It All by Abba played out.

The show kicked off with an explosive and passionate dance from the professionals with Kristina Rihanoff taking centre stage.

Choir master Gareth Malone and The Military Wives brought a Christmas feeling to the night and sang Wherever You Are.

Judge Bruno Tonioli predicted that 'prince Harry could be king of the ballroom' and tipped him to win the final.

Harry said: 'I've been to Blackpool a few time and I'm just honoured to be dancing there.'

Strictly Come Dancing stars are decked out as the 12 Days of Christmas... but there are only seven left until the final!

The contestants have been larking about as the Famous Five, in preparation for tonight's Strictly Come Dancing semi-final.

But it seems some other other Strictly stars are embracing a more festive theme for their dressing up.

Pasha Kovalev, Russell Grant, and Edwina Currie joined finalist Alex Jones and her partner James Jordan in celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Dancer Pasha was a convincing 'Lord-a-leaping' for the Radio Times feature in breeches and a crown, suspended in mid-air in a typically graceful pose.

Ex-contestant Russel donned a powdered wig and Georgian costume while carrying a pear tree and partridge for his shot.

And Edwina Currie went all-out in a white and yellow feathered costume as a 'Goose-a-laying', one webbed foot resting on a sparkly golden egg.

Finally Alex Jones was a 'maid-a-milking' her cow, James Jordan.

Holly Valance, Jason Donovan, Chelsee Healey, Harry Judd and Alex Jones are competing for just three places in the final next week.

The quintet marked the occasion by posing as Enid Blyton's Famous Five characters.

But poor old One Show host Jones drew the short straw as she played Timmy the dog, alongside Julian, Dick, Anne and Georgina (George).

In a video posted on the Strictly website, Jason said he was 'cautiously optimistic' about the Argentine Tango and Samba he will be performing tomorrow.

'If I go wrong in even one place I'll be in trouble so I really have to concentrate,' said Harry.

Chelsee is also feeling the pressure. 'I feel sick, nervous, anxious,' she said. 'But excited at the same time. I just hope it all goes to plan.'

Poor Alex and Chelsee have had yet more problems to contend with, as their ample assets have been giving them severe back pain when they dance.

According to reports today, Alex has been given pain killers and Chelsee will be strapped ahead of tonight's semi-final to help ease the pain.

Each of the celebs in BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing tonight will perform twice with their professional partners in a bid to impress judges - and viewers - to get through to the final at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom next Saturday.

And the contest could not be tighter with each of the remaining couples awarded huge scores in the last heat, which saw Robbie Savage given the boot.

Healey led the field with her highest score yet of 39, matching Judd's effort from the previous week.

'Beautiful, bad and dangerous': Red hot Holly Valance sets the dance floor on fire at Strictly semi-final

As the Strictly competition heats up all contestants went the extra mile to try and secure their place in the final.

But for Holly Valance it was a dress, as well as a dance, of passion, which gave her an extra edge.

The actress performed a Argentine Tango with partner Artem Chigvintsev wearing a slashed to the thigh red dress which earned high praise from the judges.

Bruno Tonioli told Holly she was 'beautiful, bad and dangerous' after her first dance with other judges praising the pair's ability tell the passionate story behind the dance.

Although Holly didn't earn top marks for her dance the former Neighbours star said she loved performing in the Latin style.

And with five couples being whittled down to three this week it was sequins at dawn as every celebrity was out to outdo the others, and that was just their outfits.

McFly drummer Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani literally kicked off the show with their first dance, scoring a huge 39 points with the Charleston.
And their second dance earned them a matching 39 points putting them top of the leader board with a classy Viennese Waltz to 'This Year's Love' to David Gray.
And Len Goodman told the boy band hunk he was definitely impressed with his moves.

Next it was Alex Jones and James Jordan who, despite a slight wardrobe malfunction with uneven fake tan won the judges praise with her version of a Waltz to 'You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman' by Aretha Franklin, scooping her a 36.
The judges told her she was credit to the competition with Alesha telling her she 'definitely deserved a place in the semi final.'
And for her second dance the presenter impressed with a saucy salsa dance which included a mini strip tease.
Bruno said: 'It was lovely to see you dance. You respond to a man very well. When you are on your own you get lost in the moment. If you make it to Blackpool you have to feel sure of yourself because you have got it.'

Len said: 'It was full of personality, I was watching your hips go, I was like 'Hip Hip Horay' This is your chance to get into the final. because you were attacking the dance so much it lost a bit of finesses.
