Le Bon to do this: Naomi Campbell takes the lead (naturally) as supermodels imitate Duran Duran in Harper's Bazaar photoshoot

They may be a little older than their successors on the catwalks of the world, but a group of supermodels prove they can still rock and roll in a new photoshoot with Harper's Bazaar.

Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Yasmin Le Bon, Cindy Crawford and Eva Herzigova teamed up for the shoot which sees them transformed into members of Duran Duran.

Each of the five models take a different role in the band, Naomi Campbell, quite predictably, taking pole position as the lead singer.

Dressed in a red velvet suit, the 41-year-old wears her hair similar to Mick Jagger in his heyday. In fact, her guise is modeled on that of her model friend Yasmin's husband, Simon Le Bon.

While Cindy Crawford and Yasmin LeBon flank her with their guitars.

Cindy, 45, plays John Taylor in a matching grey pinstripe waistcoat and trousers handling her bass guitar like a seasoned pro.

Likewise Yasmin, 47, holds her guitar with experience wearing an all-black ensemble including a choker around her neck.

At the back Helena Christensen, 42, takes charge of the drums.

She plays Roger Taylor and is dressed suitably in all-black like her bandmate Yasmin, this time however with her sleeves rolled up in true rock drummer style.
Youngest of the group at 38, Eva Herzigova works the keyboard as Nick Rhodes, looking great in a fitted white suit.
The five ladies also team up for the magazine's front cover in black Dolce & Gabbana corsets, and prove why they're still highly regarded within the fashion industry, their collective age of 203 no reflection on their modeling capabilities.

The shoot, styled by Vanessa Coyle, was taken in conjunction with a video shoot for Duran Duran's new single Girl Panic - which also stars the five supermodels.

Directed by Jonas Ackerlund, who also directed Lady Gaga's Paparazzi and Telephone (featuring Beyoncé) and Christina Aguilera's 2011 single Moves Like Jagger.

The shoot took place back in June, when they were also joined by designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

During the course of the shoot, editor of Harper's Bazaar Lucy Yeomans tweeted: 'Longest, latest Bazaar shoot in history. Didn't start on cover til 1am & got home at 4, but utterly worth it. One more day to go...'

And later: 'This has to have been one of the most extraordinary days of my life. A little bit of fashion history made!"

She added: 'This has to have been one of the most extraordinary days of my life. A little bit of fashion history made!'

The video for Girl Panic is expected to be serialized virally online before premiering in whole later this year.

Full feature appears in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK, on sale Thursday 3rd November.

Summer brights despite the rain: Stars don dazzling colours to thwart gloomy weather at annual Serpentine Gallery party

Our glorious British summer is being typically unpredictable right now - while yesterday saw the hottest temperatures of 2011 so far, today saw some of the biggest storms of the year to date.

But while London was soaked with rain and struck with more than its fair share of thunderbolts, a host of celebrities outshone the weather in some on-trend colour-blocking at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party last night.

Despite the inclement weather at the usually al fresco bash in Kensington Gardens on the edge of Hyde Park, Donna Air blew caution to the wind in a striking yellow asymmetric frock by Roksanda Illincic with gorgeous green and white sandals.

Meanwhile, Yasmin Le Bon was the envy of many in her bright green palazzo pant playsuit and fake fur shrug, accompanied by her smart Duran Duran star husband Simon Le Bon, resplendent in a white dinner jacket and patterned cravat.

Meanwhile, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was stunning in a dazzling backless scarlet floorlength gown and while not quite as bright, Erin O'Connor's almost psychedlic pink and purple rose print dress struck just the right note too.

Holly Valance was wearing a similarly trippy purple and green draped silk mini and Noelle Reno was similarly peachy in purple.

However, Nancy Dell'Olio missed the mark a bit in an ill-fitting chocolate brown silk mini dress and Caprice looked rather older than her years in a rather Vegas-style white trouser suit and white lacy body.

Other celebrities at the annual star-studded summer society bash which was hosted by Burberry included the label's creative director Christopher Bailey, as well as fashion designer Amanda Wakeley and actress Laura Haddock.

They were braving the thunder and lightning - but presumably not enjoying the gallery's new garden, specially created for this year - to raise money for the institution.

All money raised from the party will go to the gallery's internationally acclaimed contemporary art, architecture, design and education programmes.

The event was being held in the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2011, a temporary building designed by prize-winning Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.

Now in its eleventh year, this year's architectural commission is built around a 'secret garden' conceived by award-winning Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf.

Previous Pavilion designers have included Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry and Oscar Niemeyer.
