Elegant Abigail Breslin steals the spotlight as she joins New Year's Eve co-stars at NYC premiere

At 15 years old she still has youth on her side.

But while Abigail Breslin's older female co-stars may have been on a quest to look 10 years younger on the red carpet tonight for the NYC premiere of New Year's Eve, the child star looked far more mature than her teenage years.

Abigail - who stole the world's heart playing the adorable Little Miss Sunshine back in 2006 - looked elegant in a glittering black dress as she made her arrival to the Ziegfeld Theatre.

It is the second showcase for the all-star movie this week, following the Los Angeles world premiere on Monday where the Breslin dazzled in a white fairy dress.

Indeed her role in the movie - as a frustrated teen who is desperate to go out and celebrate New Year and be treated like an adult - mirrors her real-life transition from girl to woman.

In one scene Breslin's character - who shares her first on-screen kiss with co-star and love interest Jake T. Austin - flashes her bra at Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays her mother, xclaiming: 'I want to go to Time Square tonight. I'm 15. This is not a training bra.'

A stern SJP - who attended tonight's screening with husband Matthew Broderick in a full-length print dress - responds by scolding Breslin: 'This is not girls gone wild.'

New Year's Eve, which opens in cinemas on Friday, is the Garry Marshall directed follow up to Valentine's Day.

Its cast includes the likes of Katherine Heigl, Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher and Robert De Niro.

Pfeiffer - who was also at the LA premiere earlier this week - was in attendance tonight and looked her usual fabulous self in black, belted button-up dress.

The 53-year-old brought her husband David E. Kelley - an acclaimed Hollywood TV writer and producer - but also found time to pose with her young co-star Efron.

Speaking on the Today Show earlier, High School Musical actor Zac revealed he was thrilled to share an on-screen kiss with Pfeiffer.

Appearing alongside the actress, he told host Matt Lauer it was the 'best part of the film'.

When host Lauer quizzed the co-stars, asking them if their near 30 year age gap made it an awkward moment, Efron immediately jumped in.

'Are you kidding? It's the best part in the movie!' he exclaimed.

The co-stars revealed that the kiss was originally not scripted, and it was them who came up with the idea themselves.

'It turned out to be really fun. It was kind of our idea,' explained Efron. 'We really wanted to spice it up.'

Michelle said at first she was a little nervous about the scene.

'It is always a little bit nerve racking those scenes,' she said. 'I think we we started out thinking it was going to be a little more of a shock than it ends up being.'

The stunning Jessica Biel also leant her support to the NYC event tonight, changing out of her form-fitting white dress from earlier in the day and opting for a shimmering champagne ensemble.

It was a family affair for Jon Bon Jovi - who brought along his wife Dorothea Hurley and their brood of four children.

Meanwhile DeNiro's date for the night was wife Grace Hightower, who opted for a full black outfit.

New Year's Eve opens on December 9 in the U.S. and tonight in the UK.

The quest for eternal youth has led many a celebrity to rely upon facial freezer Botox in a bid to banish the wrinkles that come with age.

But along with those wrinkles, and thanks to no real arbiter of genuine beauty in image-obsessed Hollywood, laughter lines and facial expressions have also been banished.

Except for when it comes to the rare exception to the rule, such as the naturally luminous Michelle Pfeiffer, 53.

She had a head start, of course, being blessed with the kind of blue-eyed, blonde-haired symmetrical looks that many have attempted to ape.
But Pfieffer is a perennial flower, and unafraid to show the markers of her decades as she glides from May to December with grace.
And her appearance at the New Year's Eve premiere in Los Angeles yesterday, proved this in spades.
The actress, who stars as a bored and harassed secretary in the Garry Marshall directed follow up to Valentine's Day, chose an age appropriate plum dress but expressed her youthful side in purple platform heels.

Her make-up was soft, and her hair fell in flattering curled tendrils around her face, which showed her expression clearly.

She was accompanied by her husband, David E.Kelley, 55 , with whom she has been in committed relationship with since 1993.

But she also held her own as she posed with co-star Zac Efron, 24 , arguably looking all the more beautiful for not attempting to truss herself up like a younger woman - or a dreaded 'cougar.'

Indeed, Efron revealedthat he was persuaded to appear in the film, thanks to the incandescent screen legend.

He told Access Hollywood: 'Michelle Pfeiffer left a voicemail on my phone and said, 'I want to do it, if you want to do it.'

'My heart exploded, and I was like, 'I'm in! I'm doing it!' I love her. She made my year.'

But he admitted that the couple's on-screen kiss 'wasn't very sexy,' thanks to him.

He said: 'Those things are best to do spontaneous. Have fun and be in the moment. I definitely thought about how it was going to go down. In my mind, the way I pictured it, it was going to be perfect, very romantic, very leading man.

'Then of course, as we went to film it, right when I went to dip her, a huge piece of confetti went straight into my mouth. I didn't want to finish the kiss like that, so I spit and went for it. That's actually in the movie.'

Michelle added: 'It wasn't very sexy, but it was cute.'

He may been having issues in his off-screen love life with wife Demi Moore recently filing for divorce.

But it seems that Ashton Kutcher's relationship with his on-screen love interest is going quite swimmingly.

The 38-year-old Two And A Half Men star couldn't keep his eyes nor hands off his New Year's Eve co-star Lea Michele at the premiere of the star-studded film in Los Angeles last night.

And it's no wonder why.

The 25-year-old Glee star dared to bare in a plunging silver tulle gown, with the ensemble showing off plenty of her decolletage.
The actress let the risque dress do all of the talking, pairing the look with just an antique style bracelet and earrings, and wearing her tresses in a soft wavy style to the side.
Ashton meanwhile opted for a charcoal suit, which he paired with a checked shirt and gold tie.

The duo kept very close as they posed on the red-carpet, with Lea at one point tenderly touching Ashton's cheek as he put his arm around her waist.

The duo continued the affection as they cuddled up various times whilst walking the press line.

They talk about the importance of New Year's kiss and eventually lock lips at the conclusion of the movie.

The pair's flirty demeanor come after Ashton's recent romance troubles.

Ashton's wife Demi, 49, recently filed for divorce after allegations that the actor had cheated on her with 22-year-old party girl Sara Leal.

Recently over the Thanksgiving holiday Ashton returned to his hometown in Iowa where he spent time living it up partying as well as seeking some time to soul search and get in touch with nature on a walk through the fields.

It appears that Demi, who announced she would be filing for divorce from Ashton last month, has also been moving on with a little help from her friends.

The actress has been seen spending time with Scott-Vincent Borba with reports emerging that she was dating the skincare mogul, but a source close to the actress has told MailOnline the pair are just ‘platonic friends’.

Demi and Ashton’s relationship broke down after claims emerged that the actor had cheated on Leal, on the weekend of his wedding anniversary.

On November 17, Demi announced that she was filing for divorce from toyboy husband Kutcher after six years of marriage.

In a statement she said: 'It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton.

It is set in modern-day New York City with a variety of intertwining love stories.

And Heigl's Life As We Know It co-star Duhamel is Sam Ricker, a businessman trying to get to New York City to reunite with his love interest from the previous year's night of revelry.
