Back to style basics: Cheryl Cole opts for simple yet chic look in trusty LBD at X Factor auditions

She has stepped out in a number of different statement styles during her first few weeks as a judge on the X Factor USA but yesterday Cheryl Cole kept things simple in the style stakes.
The Geordie singer,27, arrived at the Sears Centre in a subtle yet chic little black dress which she had teamed with a pair of elegant black heels.

The asymmetrical dress, which nipped in Cheryl’s small waist, also boasted a fishtail skirt as she arrived at the auditions held at Hoffman Estates, an hour outside of Boston.

The Fight for This Love singer also played it safe with her hair wearing her locks down in a side parting, without the volume seen on the first day of her new job.
While Cheryl looked elegant in the outfit many fans could be left unimpressed with the look, as the singer is known for experimenting with her style.
As she arrived at the Habemus Papam screening in Cannes last week Cheryl wowed in a white Stephane Rolland gown, featuring a deep and daring plunging neckline.

The singer teamed the looking with dark makeup consisting of smokey eyes and burgundy lipsslicking her hair back into a eat pony tail.
At the start of the month Cheryl had commentators divided over her look at the first day of the X Factor auditions where she took on the colour blocking trend in Oscar De La Renta and DVF also stepping out with huge hair.

Cheryl has moved into a £2.2 million Beverly Hills apartment a stone’s throw from her friend Derek Hough’s home.
However friends of the singer have ruled out a romance between the two despite their close proximity.
‘Cheryl values Derek as a friend but she doesn’t want any more than that,’ says a source. ‘It’s hit Derek quite hard as he hoped her move to LA would allow their friendship to develop into a proper relationship.

While Cheryl, 27, focuses on winning over the Americans, Simon Cowell has been quietly advising her.
Meanwhile, old friend and Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am hosted a party to support the Geordie singer, while stylist Victoria Adcock has helped Cheryl wow Hollywood with a new wardrobe.
