Jennifer Aniston is seven years wiser than Reese Witherspoon.

And that wisdom apparently paid off for the 42-year-old actress last night at the Elle Annual Women in Hollywood event, where she managed to outfox her fellow Thespian friend.

Aniston was streaks ahead as she stepped out to the Beverly Hills soiree in a daringly short, low-cut silver dress.

As a result it was the Friends star who came off looking more youthful than 35-year-old Reese, who played it somewhat demure in a Navy blue trouser suit.
Jen, who is among the honourees at the 18th annual gala, posed for photographs with Reese - who played Rachel Green's sister Jill in two episodes of Friends 11 years ago - backstage.
The pair cosied up and put on their best smiles as they chatted amid a frenzy of flashbulbs.

Viola Davis and Barbra Streisand were also among the stars at the event who received honours.

There were many other VIP guests on hand, who turned out to support the occasion dressed in their finest.

Naomi Watts looked stunning in a flesh-coloured knee-length dress while Nicole Richie wore a flowing black patterned asymmetrical number.

Classic in black: Katherine Heigl pulled out all the stops in a cleavage-baring LBD while Viola Davis looked chic in a silver number

Katherine Heigl proved she does still have it in her to look glamorous, and stepped out of her customary matronly attire in favour of a pretty LBD which put her amble cleavage on show.
Michelle Pfeiffer defied her age, with the 53-year-old looking breathtaking in a belted black dress with a plunging v-shaped neckline.
Other celebs who put their back into the style effort included Camila Alves, who wore a polka-dot blue number and Amber Heard, who was pretty in pink, teamed with a slick of blood-red lipstick.

Freida Pinto looked immaculate in a white gown complete with a purple and green embellishment and matching-coloured shoes.
And British star Alice Eve was pretty as a picture in a floral white dress as she posed on the red carpet.
Not letting the side down, Ian Somerhalder, Stephen Dorff and Joel McHale all looked dapper in slick suits.

She once famously dated gothic rocker Marilyn Manson.

And it seems Evan Rachel Wood hasn't lost her love for the rock star look.

The 24-year-old actress poured herself into a racy skin tight leather dress today for an appearance on E! comedy show Chelsea Lately.

Wood showed off her svelte figure and long slim legs in the outfit, which she teamed with a zebra print belt, both by Preen Line.





With her strawberry blonde hair worn in a stylish crop, the Ides of March actress looked happy and relaxed after the taping of the show with comedian host Chelsea Handler.

'Headed to @chelsealately. Should be interesting. :) stay tuned!' Wood tweeted Evan before the show, later adding: '[It] went great. Love her. Be sure to watch tonight. :)'

The star, who plays an promiscuous intern opposite Ryan Gosling and George Clooney in The Ides of March, revealed how Clooney personally called her to offer her the role.

She also discussed her love of Justin Bieber saying: 'He's super talented. I just want to be him.'

Handler also quizzed the actress on whether she was single.

'I'm happy,' Wood said cryptically, perhaps alluding to recent reports which have linked her to British actor Jamie Bell.

The rumoured couple were spotted holding hands last month in Venice, California.

It is the second time the couple have given romance a shot.

Having both shot to fame as child stars, they dated for a year until 2006, when the relationship fizzled out, before rekindling their romance earlier this year.

The actress also made headlines when she revealed she was bisexual.

'I can't say I'm one way or the other because I've honestly fallen in love with a man and I've honestly fallen in love with a woman.

'I don't know how you label that, it's just how it is.'
