Little Mix fans left disappointed after X Factor winners release montage video to accompany debut single Cannonball

They've had a pretty busy time of it since winning the X Factor three weeks ago with promotional trips, interviews and signings galore.

After Little Mix's debut song Cannonball went straight to number one, fans eagerly awaited the video to accompany the track, hoping to see the girls away from the stage and acting like real pop stars.

But after it was released today, the reception to it was rather lukewarm after fans complained it was just a hash-job of their X Factor journey.

Like previous videos from X Factor winners, it is a montage made up of various clips from the minute they were put together as a band, to the auditions at the judges' house right through to their win.

But unlike previous videos, there are no external scenes of the girls, either singing in a studio, a back drop or surrounded by some romantic lighting.

Instead, the entire three minutes and 33 seconds video is made up of a cuts job of their best bits on the show.

They have had a very busy three weeks since their victory so probably haven't had the time record a music video.

However, in previous years, the three finalists would record a video in the final week, so it could hit the music channels 24 hours after the winner is announced.

But instead, Little Mix fans have had to make do with black and white and slow-motion shots of the band from the show.

And they took to their Twitter pages to bemoan the 'rip-off' video, with one saying: 'They have really gone all out in making the video for Little Mix's Cannonball #sarcasm.'
Another added: 'The Little Mix video is just like one of these fan videos on Youtube!'

And one other said: 'ok so wtf is the Little Mix video about, they haven't even filmed any extra bits this year like they usually do and it doesn't play Dermot.'

Little Mix made the number one slot last Sunday but face stiff competition from the Military Wives' song Wherever You Are for the Christmas Number One.

The Spice Girls catapulted to fame with the help of nicknames, making fans across the globe relate to each of them individually.

And just as Sporty, Posh, Ginger, Baby and Scary became household name - it seems Little Mix have cottoned on, with Perrie Edwards christening the quartet with new titles.

The South Shields teenager, 18, claims she is 'Boho', while bandmate Jesy Nelson is Swagger Mix, Jade Thirlwall is 'Cutie Mix' and Leigh-Anne Pinnock is 'Fiery'.

With their new found fame, an influx of party invitations and VIP events will be winging their way to the 'lil' muffins', but Perrie maintains they will stay on the straight and narrow.

Jade added: 'I've got a boyfriend but he's at home letting me get on with this. He knows how much I want it. He's not threatened, but it's going to be hard. We'll see what happens.'

Speaking of being the first girl group - and only band - ever to win The X Factor, Jade said: 'There is stigma and I don’t know why. Maybe girl groups seem threatening to other girls, and that’s mostly who votes, maybe because they’re dressed up all sexy.

'We aren’t very sexy, that’s just not us. We don’t act like we’ve got to impress anyone and we’re just silly. Once we realised we had girls’ votes on our side, once we felt we had that support, it was amazing. Because it’s about time, isn’t it? That girls liked girls?'

But despite their soaring popularity, Jesy is still the victim of cyber bullying regarding her weight: 'I still get it now... Still, seeing it written down is hard. I told my mum, "I'm a lot tougher than you think!"

'What's upsetting is the amount of girls who've written to me and messaged me because they’re being bullied, too.

'I mean, it’s amazing because they say they don't feel alone anymore. But then it's upsetting because there are so many of them'.

With fame and fortune on the horizon, their bank balances are likely to take on a whole new dimension, with Leigh-Anne saying she’d like to be rich and Jesy hoping to meet Simon Cowell.

Jesy said: 'I think it will happen in January. He sent us some flowers. I actually love him. I was gutted he wasn't on the show this year.'

Speaking of their freebies, Leigh-Anne said: 'The best thing I've had so far is a fake fur coat from Topshop, but someone stole it from the contestants' green room at Wembley!

'I like high street stores. Republic, River Island and I love Topman’s jumpers. I've got a wicked sweatshirt with Fleetwood Mac on the front.'



Having the final word, Jesy said: 'We want to be internationally successful. The important thing is that this is not just a two year thing. We want it to last forever. I can’t live without these girls.'

Little Mix are appearing on The X Factor Live Tour, which kicks off from February 25 2012.

Yesterday, the celebrated their debut single Cannonball reaching No1 in the UK charts.

Just hours before, she joined her husband for a Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Queen.

But it was just the young royal set at the Sun Military Awards tonight.

The Duchess of Cambridge was the belle of the ball in a strapless black velvet dress as she walked the red carpet with her husband Prince William, who looked dapper in black tie.

Prince Harry was two steps behind his older brother at London's Imperial War Museum, also donning a suit.

Kate's black Alexander McQueen gown - the same designer as her wedding dress - had frill trim around the bust and a fishtail-style skirt.

It was so long on the five-foot, 10-inch Duchess, that she had to keep hitching it up to keep it from scraping on the ground.

Kate was still sporting the 'Scousebrow' - thick eyebrows made famous by the Liverpudlian show, Desperate Scousewives.
And she donned her trademark thick black eyeliner around her green eyes.

Among the celebrity guests was David Beckham and his two eldest boys Brooklyn,12, and Romeo, nine.

The trio - looking dapper in suits - looked as though they had caught up on sleep after flying in from Los Angeles this morning with the rest of the family.

The Beckhams have returned to London for a British Christmas at 'Beckingham Palace' in Hertfordshire which Victoria is said to have decorated.

Speaking at a Downing Street reception, the Prime Minister and Deputy PM Nick Clegg joined forces to heap praise on the 'Herculean bravery' of the phenomenal men and women across the services.
More than 80 nominees and their partners packed into the historic No10 state room where the politicians mingled with the guests.
Among those invited was Sergeant Duncan Slater, 32, and his wife Kim, reported the Sun.
The soldier was blasted 30ft from his vehicle by a Taliban bomb, breaking several bones in his body — including his back.
Last year Sgt Slater chose to have both legs removed when the breaks did not heal but went on to cycle the length of Britain in aid of his wounded comrades.
Mr Cameron said at the event: 'I think the Military Awards is now a really brilliant event in the annual calendar — it's an opportunity for the whole country to say a very big thank you to people who've shown enormous bravery and courage in our Armed Services.
'So it's a delight to have you here at lunchtime at No10 Downing Street.
'We have a lot of parties here at No10 — for all sorts of charities and organisations — but I can't think of a more deserving group of people to come and have something to drink, eat and celebrate with today.'
Mr Clegg said: 'You shouldn't just be proud of the servicemen and women with you in your work, and you shouldn't just be proud on behalf of your families and communities but I hope you do also know that you make the whole nation very, very proud indeed.'

Little Mix reach No.1 on Official Singles Chart... but their dreams of Christmas number one may be snatched by Military Wives

X Factor winners Little Mix blasted to the top of the Official Singles Chart with debut release Cannonball shifting over 210,000 copies in its first week.

The release achieved the biggest first week sales for a single so far this year - outselling the rest of this week's Official Singles Chart Top 5 combined.

Irish folk-singer Damien Rice had the talent show to thank too this week.

We're number one! Little Mix were tonight celebrating reach number one on the Official Singles Chart with their single Cannonball

His original Cannonball - which peaked at 32 when first released in 2003 - was re-released and reached number 9 in October after featuring on X Factor.

Today it re-entered the singles chart at number 19 thanks to Little Mix's cover.
En Vogue's Don't Let Go also received a boost this week courtesy of Little Mix's performance of the track on X Factor final night, climbing to number 27 from last week's 89.

But Little Mix shouldn't get too comfortable at the top just yet. Bookies have placed The Military Wives choir ahead of the girl band for the coveted Christmas number one next weekend.

William Hill have Gareth Malone's choir at 1/8, with the X Factor winners trailing behind at 11/2, based on the pre-orders for The Military Wives' Wherever You Are breaking Amazon records.

'X Factor will have lost a week's sales by the time the Christmas number one is counted,' said a William Hill spokesperson.

'It looks like the Military Wives can't be beaten.'

There was just one new entry in this week's Top 10 - Leona Lewis, herself an X Factor winner back in 2006, crashed straight in at number 8 with her cover of Hurt, a song written by Nine Inch Nails but made famous by the legendary Johnny Cash.

In the albums chart, Grammy winning Canadian superstar Michael Bublé's festive album Christmas scored the biggest weekly sales of any album this year so far.

More than 269,000 copies were sold in the last seven days, a week-on-week sales increase of over 42%.

It is the second week that Christmas has spent at top spot, having previously peaked at Number 1 in November.

The record has not been out of the Top 5 since entering the chart at number 3 in October.

Bublé, who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, has scored six Official Albums Chart Top 10 hits in his career.

This week festive fever really took hold with the Official Albums Chart Top 6 all recording sales over 100,000.

Coldplay record the biggest percentage increase in week-on-week sales (113%) as Mylo Xyloto climbed to number 4 from last week's number 8.

While there were no new entries in the Top 10, Westlife saw their Greatest Hits collection re-enter at number 9, up from last week's 11, having previously peaked at number 4 in November.

The official Christmas single and album number ones will be announced on Christmas Day.
