She performed the song at this year's MTV Video Music Awards and then again on The X Factor USA as she attempted to boost her profile across the Pond.

And as critics say this could prove to be her biggest Stateside hit, Jessie J yesterday released the video for her new single Domino hoping to boost its chart position even higher.

Considered a style chameleon, Jessie made sure that the video was bright, bold and colourful and makes several outfit changes during the four-minutes-long song.

She begins the video in a skimpy black feathered creation as the wallpaper behind her swirls about in crescent shapes behind her.

Blowing kisses and shaking her hips to the music, she then switches to one of her trademark body suits which is covered in black shapes and pink flowers, which also show up in the background.

And during the video, Jessie changes into a psychedelic top complete with face mask, a pink suit, a studded cap which she teams with an open black jacket and animal print bra and denim shorts and a white T-shirt.

Domino was released in September and charted in Australia and New Zealand but didn't do very well in the UK.

For its re-release, she teamed up with producer Dr Luke who put a funky dance beat to it and it has now been released as her second single in the US.

Yesterday, she posted it on her Twitter account and wrote: 'Merry Christmas everybody! I hope today has bought endless moments of happiness and you have been with the people you love and care about.

'For the seven years before I signed my record deal I was in a bad place and I was scared that I couldn't get out of it. That's why I wrote such upbeat music, as a way of trying to escape how I felt.

'Now that I am happier, I won't be afraid to explore my pain. But in a good way; it'll be me saying that it's OK not to feel OK. Not every song needs a happy ending.'
