One shot to fame starring in The O.C., while the other appeared in Gossip Girl.
But today Leighton Meester and Mischa Barton both brought their Hollywood style to London as they made the most of the sunshine in summery outfits.
While Mischa stocked up on some groceries at a local supermarket looking pretty in a blue minidress and orange wedges, Leighton wore a more understated outfit to launch the new Vera Wang fragrance Lovestruck.

The Gossip Girl actress looked stunning in a sheer beige shirt and tight black trousers as she launched the perfume at Harrods in London alongside designer Wang.
It is believed the 25-year-old star signed a $3million deal last year to be the new face of the new scent.
Explaining why she wanted Leighton involved, Wang said recently: 'When I heard tourists saying, "I want to look like her," I knew we were right on the money.
'There’s nothing like the real client in the street, and I mean the street literally - and in windows literally.'

While Leighton is starting to make a name for herself as something of a fashion icon, she said previously she doesn't take any notice of the label.
She said: 'Gossip Girl has absolutely changed my style. And living in New York I've become more brave and aware of fashion.
'I completely close my eyes to it when people call me a fashion icon because it's an opinion from people that I don't know. I wear what I like.'
And while Leighton was launching the scent in Harrods, Mischa was out and about near her temporary home in London.

When she burst onto screens as Marissa Cooper in cult teen drama The O.C. in 2003 Barton became an instant style icon.
Her millions of fans were desperate to emulate the waif-like actress' preppy onscreen look and glamorous red carpet style.
