Frances Bean Cobain takes part in beautiful photoshoot for her 19th birthday

Her 19th birthday has been dubbed 'the most anticipated comings of age in recent pop cultural history.'

And rock royalty offspring Frances Bean Cobain has marked the milestone with a stunning photoshoot with celebrated fine art photographer Rocky Schenck.

The beautiful 19-year-old channels old Hollywood stars of the silver screen in the mesmerising series of portraits.

In one picture, the flame-haired beauty stares down the camera with her haunting blue eyes, dressed in sheer lace negligee.

In another, she smokes a cigarette in a black and white image that could be from a Forties Hollywood film.

Frances is of course the daughter of Courtney Love and tragic late rocker Kurt Cobain, who died when she was just 20 months old.

The rock offspring, who has had to endure her mother's headline-grabbing antics over the years, steps into the spotlight just a month before the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind.

Fashion Director Amina Akhtar spoke to Rolling Stone, where Frances underwent an internship in 2008, about the rising star.

'There's certainly a bit of nostalgia when it comes to Frances Bean. I mean, who doesn't remember the early nineties and where they were when they found out about Kurt?'

'There's no denying how absolutely stunning she is. We all remember her growing up, and now she's come out into her own as this sexy, beautiful woman.

'But what really struck me was that she came across as strong, confident, and really herself. That's why she's having this moment.'

Rocky Schenck has also worked with Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Adele and Annie Lennox.
