It really was a moment the fashion world had been waiting for.

And as Kate Moss sashayed down the aisle to marry Jamie Hince she certainly didn’t disappoint and in a vintage-inspired gown made by her close friend John Galliano.

Now, the official pictures shot by celebrated photographer Mario Testino have been released and the snaps are simply remarkable.

The shots, seen in American Vogue magazine's September issue, provide an intimate insight into the July 1 nuptials and Mario, a close friend of Kate’s, has created some of the most beautiful pictures ever seen of the supermodel on her very special day.

Given her 20-years experience in front of the camera Kate, 37, appears happier than ever as she poses in the stunning prints.

In one shot the happy couple are seen kissing behind a leafy tree in a stolen moment away from their guests.

In another Kate is seen gazing at her new husband while he looks out of the back of their car just moments after the couple became husband and wife.

One snap from the shoot shows the close bond Kate shares with her daughter Lila Grace as mother and daughter pose together their bed skin touching.
Lila Grace was one of Kate's 16 bridesmaids and the model is pictured smiling with them and pageboy Alfie in a picture that captures a sense of the magical, with soft lighting and leafy backdrop.
Each shot captures the emotion, passion and style of the day in a way that Testino, with his intimate knowledge of Kate, can and the results are spectacular.

And given that he has been photographing her since she was 16-years-old their close bond is clearly apparent.
In the accompanying interview Vogue’s European Editor-at-Large Hamish Bowles provides and exclusive insight into the wedding.
But there is no doubt about it the exquisite photography speaks for itself, although they do not reveal Kate's influences for her wedding.
The model has revealed that it was in fact the TV documentary My Big Fat Gypsy wedding that made her and Kills rocker Jamie realise that they should tie the know.

She told Vogue: 'I am so romantic about Gypsies. They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at sixteen. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius.

'I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day—let’s do it!'

Moss also admitted she suffered from pre-wedding nerves, adding: ‘Let’s put it this way – if I didn’t have my friends... I don’t know how people do it. I’ve had big birthday parties, and I’ve thrown parties for other people, but this is a completely different thing.

‘You have to look at every piece of cutlery; the details are intense. And then you wake up thinking about the ballet shoes for the girls; is the satin ribbon right? I’ve gone mental. Jamie thinks I’m mad, asking, “Are you gonna be all right? After the wedding, I’m hoping you’ll get back to normal”.’

And as the fashion world waited with baited breath to see what design she would don for her special day, Kate has described what she wanted from her wedding gown.

Ahead of the wedding she told Vogue she wanted: 'A classic Galliano, those chiffon thirties kind. I’ve lived in his dresses for years, and they just make me feel so comfortable. But it’s so much more couture, couture, couture. Oh, my God, the work that’s going into the dress!'

The designer, who has had his fair share of scandal this year said designing the wedding gown was like 'creative rehab'.

And Hamish has detailed how as Peter, Kate's father, thanked the designer for his work on the dress during his speech 'John's eyes well up' as he received a standing ovation.

As well as displaying Galliano Kate enjoyed two wardrobe changes donning a smoky-grey gown by her close friend Stella McCartney for her first dance with Jamie, before emerging in a 1930s silk wedding dress partying until six am.

And being fashion's most famous party girl, we wouldn't have expected anything less.
